How to run a Red Alert 2 YR in window mode?

If you're using Windows 10, then I'm guessing your problem is setting your game to run in 16bit color, which isn't explained in that link. If so, you must open your RA2/YR folder, find game.exe and gamemd.exe and do the following for each file:
Right-click -> Properties -> Compatibility. -> Select 'Reduced Color Mode'option and choose 16-bit. You must do this for every game / program.

A lot of command line parameters are blocked by the launcher. To make sure they get through, I advise you to install Bibber's fixed game launchers.
As @W4rToyz said, though, you need to run it in 16 bit colour mode. In Win10 this can be set for the actual program, but on lower Windows versions, you will need to switch the colour mode of your entire desktop to 16 bit colours before you can run the game in window.
No. The game runs on the full screen.
setting compatibility of game and gamemd executables to 16bit does allow the game to run in a window, however it is a super tiny window and the colours are seriously messed up, also moving the window away from the top left of my monitor does not cause the messed up colour mess contents of the window to come with it, it is stuck to the top left of my monitor. kinda weird.
setting the compatibility to 8bit made my pc crash :P
Does not fix it either, what a shame.
Any official EA answer would be awesome.
