Red Alert 2 Trouble

I purchased The C&C Ultimate Collection a few months ago and the games all worked fine. Then, without any changes to my computer, the Red Alert 2 game won't allow me to play. When I go to my Origin Library, the other games' play buttons allow me to click them, but with Red Alert 2 the button is faded and cannot be clicked. If I try to click on the shortcut to the game on my desktop, the game never loads. When I tested the game for compatibility issues, this error message comes up:  Missing required file "ssleay32.dll". I don't know what changes I need to make. I just want to be able to play the game again. Hopefully someone can lead me to the solution

Thanks!

Phil

  • Did you try reinstalling the game?

There are a bunch of posts that mention that disabling the Origin In-Game overlay fixes launch problems with C&C Generals... maybe it'll help on RA2 as well?

    1) Reboot your PC.

    2) Right click Red Alert 2 in origin client.

    3) Select "Game Properties"

    4) In 'Command Line Arguments' type: "-w"

    5) Tick "Disable Origin In Game For This Game"

    6) Hit OK and enjoy!
