SCARABS ARE TOO DAMN STRONG. COMPLETE BS!!!

  • Actually they are too weak. 0% pick rate in top leagues. I have a handy guide on them in this forum titled "click here if you are having trouble with scarabs" give it a read and you too can get free instant wins from scarabs =)

They're fairly easy.  And, really, once you embrace how easy they are you'll start being thankful when you see them.  It usually leads to an easy win since you can destroy so much early tib that your opponent threw at you.

I have seen a few fights where they are used well.  Protecting you're own Harvester or later stage as mobile mines for expensive units - forcing your opponent to pivot.

  • Totally agree!! They cost hardly anything and players just keep pumping them out. Needs to be more long distance units to counter those stupid things and they shouldn’t take out bombers and high units so easily. They need a huge nerf and cost more.

They’re too easy to kill. Usually my riflemen or cyberweels kill them without being killed. Scarabs  are too hard to get into position, I have trouble using them myself.

  • Kill them from a distance. If you run up too close to them they detonate. Ive used laser squads and vehicles from machine guns to destroy them. Its worked out very well.

That's not really true. There are at least a few players who do use them in Master League.

at the time of writing, it was true. Yes, there have been some people that have taken scarabs into masters and even tib now. Still doesn't mean anything however, those poor souls insta-lose against top players as soon as the first scarab comes out. But fine, let's amend my statement to "Actually they are too weak. 0% pick rate in tournaments" =p
  • Ran a dog under a banshee next to a scarab.   Killed the banshee with a 10 tib unit.

As been said before - they're newb-killing machines and that's it - not sure they're any good for the game because of that.

Scarabs need to be re-worked, less of a learning curve for new players and better use for later on.

If these players with scarabs are losing so often, how did they ever make it to Master League at all? ;-)

masters is a strange place. Before league resets, it was just purgatory. People with high levels but no skill got stuck here, and people with low levels and high skill would get stuck here.

Now it is a little more streamlined. But again, just because you can brute force your way, doesn't reflect a thing on that unit. during my trip through masters this month I went on a 44 game streak with my level 10 GDI. Did I find some sort of holy grail of strategy? Am I the next kane? Heck no! I just got lucky with matchmaker. And sometimes that is all it takes. Scarabs are the NOD version of the GDI MG team. If you don't understand how to counter it, it will stomp you. If you do, then it's pretty easy. Although I'd rather see scarabs any day over an MG, haha.

But I faced 3 scarab users on my blitz games this weekend and none of them made it to a pad. Easy wins which kinda makes you feel bad till you realize they are scarab users =p
