Unable to get Origin Log On to connect

System: Windows 7 [64]

Have the Command & Conquer the Ultimate Collection

Downloaded the download file from origin and opened and installed.

Went to use for the first time and get - "You must be on line when logging in for the first time."

Tried the - create and account link - came back with Not Connected.

Steam works - EVE on line - but not this.

Will not connect to the internet?

From what I'm seeing on the Origin forums, this issue seems to stem from antivirus preventing the connection.

Try and disable them (and not just your firewall) and while you're at it, add Origin to the whitelist of said antivirus/firewalls and tell us if the issue persists. 🙂

Is Origin in offline mode? Or might it be blocked by your firewall?

  • Took all firewalls down and restarted computer - same- would not connect.

Can be logged into EA.com and tried to get it to connect - nothing - keeps saying that I am not connected to the internet.

My system is going into the local shop next week for a tune-up. Will ask them if they can get this to connect.

This is definitely a software issue I doubt they'll have any more luck. But Origin is in online mode, right?

  • Lets make sure we are talking the same - Origin on line - I can log into my account at Origin.com or the EA.com account.

It is when I use the desk top short cut to the file Origin.exe that starts the program (Download Origin) - the log in comes up - fill in the required information - hit submit - comes back telling me that I must be on line. To me - the program is not getting out to the internet to connect and confirm.

Don't know if there is something in the Explorer that might be stopping. Still working on it.

Hm... I don't have any idea what might be causing this. Try asking here, this is the Origin board.
