Forum Discussion
I have identified the location for Custom Maps (Created by the Local User).
Please note, the following Directories don't exist until you've played the game for the first time. Also note, this is based on a Windows 7 System.
C:\Users\[USER_ID]\Documents\CnCRemastered\Local_Custom_Maps\Red_Alert
C:\Users\[USER_ID]\Documents\CnCRemastered\Local_Custom_Maps\Tiberian_Dawn
The Map editor will memorise the location if the Directory exists (if not, you'll be taken to your 'Documents' Directory).
To play the maps in-game, go to your Skirmish Screen and click 'Custom' in the Bottom Right Corner (next to 'Rules').
Please note:
If you have a Custom Map that was created in another Map Editing Program, please load the map in the Remastered Map Editor supplied with the Remastered Version of the game, and then save the map in the appropriate Directory. This is so that there is a TGA File available to read in-game, and the TGA file map be needed for the Radar too.
Additional Note:
Imported Maps that were created using RAED will have two many Waypoints (as RAED automatically adds the Waypoints 'Home' and 'Reinf'). When saving them using the Remastered Editor, make sure that you only have 8 Player Spawn Locations and that the Waypoints 'Home' and 'Reinf' are removed. This is especially important if you've got an 8-Player maps. You'll know if something's wrong if the Map in-game shows 10 Player Map, and only 8 Player Spawn Locations.
Edited Post - Additional Information:
I don't know if it's due to a bug in the game, but Custom 8-Player Maps appear to crash the game.
I can't seem to use my custom maps for online game play. Is there a way you found to do this? I'm not sure where the "user maps" come from when hosting? They look to be made.

For those using Origin, not yet, since the game isn't fully ready yet. More of EA pushing games out to the shelf before they're finished products.
