Black screen on startup

I have installed the beta driver from nvidia. Tried reinstall of game, repaired the install with 0 errors. Tried running it as an administrator, tried running it in compatibility modes. When check...

    I found a fix after random tries.... run it in xp service pack 3 compability mode, and it the ting started!

    I think I found a solution that has worked so far for me.  Here's what I did:

    • Turned V-sync off in game.
    • Used an external graphic card control program (EVGA Precision X  ver 4.0.0) to manually set Frame Rate Target to 60 fps.

    So far I have not had any more random crashes during gameplay.  Will update if this stops working.

    I had this same problem and couldn't find a solution anywhere but I have fixed mine now. I used Nvidia Geforce Experience to change the resolution because it was trying to start in 1280x720 and when I changed it to 1920x1080 it worked straight away.

    Just thought i'd post this since I there is no help from EA

Hello,

While playing Dead Space 3 on the PC the game randomly goes to a black screen and crashes to the desktop.  I have been unable to find any common denominators as to why this is occuring.  The time intervals are random as are the points in the game when the crashes occur.  I've searched extensively on the internet and forums for a solution, but have not found one yet.  I do not have any game controllers installed or connected, I use a mouse and keyboard.  I've tried several things already without any success:  repair install, updated video drivers, updated origin, turned off v-sync, adjusted graphic levels, turned off SLI.  Is there something else I can try?  Below are my system specs and dxdiag.

Same problem here. Every 20-30min or so.

Video card not overheating (Around 60C when playing).
I have NO CONTROLLER (using only mouse and keyboard).
EA we need a fix ASAP.

      V-sync off did the trick for me (No need to change the FPS).

      Played for around 30min no crash....Fingers crossed.
