Dead Space 3 Co-op disconnect

Hey all,

Every time me and my buddy get on to play Dead Space 3 co-op, it'll work fine for a while, then it will say that he has gone offline and that he has been disconnected from the EA servers, his Origin status goes offline for only about 2 seconds, but that's enough to stop the game and makes us loose some of our progress.

It is very frustrating because we've tried nearly everything, if anyone has a solution please let me know so I can get back to playing again.

    Hi dauntless598!

Please try following workarounds and give us some feedback if your issue ist still going on or solved:

Go to www.origin.com/download, download and install the latest version of Origin (and make sure you have your Origin account ready as well)

Get sure that Origin.exe and DSIII is added to the exception list of your firewall/antivirus software.

Run the origin.exe in this folder with a rightclick -> run as administrator.

You should check the following ports on your router:
For Battlefield on PC, please enable the following online ports on your connection:
    TCP: 80, 443, 9988, 20000-20100, 22990, 17502, 42127
    UDP
    : 3659, 14000-14016, 22990-23006, 25200-25300
For specific instructions on how to open your ports, please visit http://www.portforward.com/ or contact your router manufacturer.

Open your Origin client, click on “Show Game Details”.
Then you go to the cloud button on DSIII and uncheck the “enable cloud storage for all games” box. Launch the game, quit it and re-enable the cloud storage box. Make sure to use the local data when the information box popping up.

If this workaround doesn't solve your problem, please respond to that topic.

    Basti
    Cheers

Just a bit of a problem of the same kind. On the PS3, in the middle of a co-op session it would say "Connection Interrupted" followed by the message that my partner left and that I should either Save and Quit and continue. Now besides the crashing...............is there are reason why a whole hour of progress is completely gone? I mean, doesn't the game autosave periodically? It's like the game saves your inventory first and foremost and then MAYBE a checkpoint after you beat like...2 whole Chapters or so.

"For Battlefield on PC" - Erm, are you sure you copied the right response, eabastian? This game is Dead Space 3, not Battlefield...

  • I did everything you listed here, and setting up port forwarding broke the Origin application. I can get to the store and interact with everthing but when I try to opne my Friends window it tells me I cannot access in offline mode even tho the Origin Application says I'm online

Same thing have been happening to mu coop sessions lately.

It never occured during my 1st playthrough but after getting the new game+ option it started going off like hell, now even more so after I finished pure survival and classic mode.... Each session I joined only lasted as long as 10 minutes before the game either crashes for no reason or my coop partner gets disconnected.

Followed the instructions above and problem still persists....

  • none of this works at all. The game is near unplayable with freezing and Connection Interrupted while playing co-op. the port TCP?UDP settings supplied are an invalid type and dont fix anything at all. How are we supposed to play your games if they are so badly put together?

All we want to be able to do play the games we paid you for guys. come on.

i found a solution for this annoyance and wanted to share it.

    if still someone cares.

my scenario is two people playing over the same internet connection (via a router)

Nat is still strict however what i did:

    1. Don´t force v-sync via cc oder nvidia cp to acheive 60 fps use the ingame options(i know this sucks 30fps...)

    2. Make the host of the game to Alt + Tab out of the game and return. The cleint should see Connection interrupted. DS3 will reconnect after the host continues the game.

Just had a 3 hours session. Rocksteady no dropouts or anything else.

Im not certain that step 1 helps however i was desperate.

If that helps please let me know to understand that issue better.
