we still want this fixed, lazy bums.
Here we go...I figured out how to PM ebastian, this was the response (asked where to find out and if they even knew):
Hi chrisearsahat!
I can understand why you guys are frustrated. To clarify, like in every official board, we can not always give answers until a certain point. This is mostly related to investigation processes etc.
To give you an answer, yes we "escalated" this issue to the studio. As soon as we have more information we will inform you. I would love to give you answers on everything but sadly that is not as easy as it sounds. Just as an example, it is the nature of community's (and that's not bad) that they want to get answers. But we need to be carefully with our comments, we might found a reason for the issue and are not sure about it. At the end it could be related to something totally different. Or we could comment something and everyone want to get an ETA for a fix, but we are carefully if we are not 100 % if this ETA will work out.
I keep an eye on this topic atm and wait for some valid news for you guys. Unfortunately, those info could need some time.
Last thing, you guys can surely ask for answers here from EA, but we just can't comment on everything aka must wait for the information from our investigation teams.
Cheers

Fix this please.

Hi guys!
Okay we checked this bug but would need some additional data from you guys. We checked several videos on the net and those videos lacking sometimes important details. You could really help us to investigate the impact of this bug and to investigate the reason for this issue.
We would need following data:
Where did this bug occur?
Please give us information if the bug occurs in every chapter and door in the game. As an example, we have some cases where this bug only occurs during the chapters "on space stations". Please share your experience and let us know if the bug is impacting the whole game or just certain areas.
Please describe the impact of this bug in detail.
General speaking, we would need to know how "bad" this bug is on your game-client. Is it just a bit stuttering over a couple of minutes, is the sound replicating itself, is it getting louder etc.
Please tell us if this bug changed his impact over a special amount of time, on various levels or after doing some troubleshooting steps. Please post your sound-hardware details.
It would help us if you would post the model of your soundcard and if it's onboard or not, what kind of OS you are running on your PC and which version of DirectX you are using. You could add your graphic card in addition.
Thanks for your help!
Basti
Ps.: I merged two topics about this issue in one big topic to collect your feedback.

Where did this bug occur?
Bug occurs every time there is a door that is opened with the telekinesis power. So from chapter 3 and presumably onward. i haven't checked past chapter for because the sound is too loud and completely ruins any enjoyment of the game.
Please describe the impact of this bug in detail.
The sound doesn't get louder. its basically a repeating sound as if the door is powered by a diesel motor. once you open the door the sound stops until the door automatically drops into its closed state. the sound doesn't go away no matter what. if you are in the vicinity of two telekinesis doors, the will both produce the same sound at the same time.
Please post your sound-hardware details.

Creative Labs X-fi Extreme Gamer latest creative drivers, dedicated soundcard.
Geforce gtx 260 latest nvidia drivers
Both Dead Space 1 and 2 steam version have no similar bug on my PC, but those games dont have telekinesis doors.

Hello eabastian, thanks for the response.
This bug occurs at every single door in the game which you open with kinesis. It happens throught the space station within which you are persuing Ellie's S.O.S signal and in two chapters later in the game. The issue is this:
Whenever you are within a certain distance from one of these doors, it repeatedly plays it's door opening/shutting noise. It repeats at roughly the same frequency as your framerate. When you move away from the door, you can hear the sound ending momentarily before it begins repeating again.
I'll post some details of my hardware shortly.

What they said, I have a stock 8760W (integrated sound, ATI graphics version, use the link in my post before to see all specs in detail). Windows 7, 32GB of RAM, running on SSDs, DirectX 10.

Where did this bug occur?
The problem occurs at every single kinesis door I have encountered. Unfortunately, I haven't played much past Chapter 3 because the problem is so severe that I can't continue with the game. Others have told me the problem continues occuring later on, but I haven't experienced this for myself.
Please describe the impact of this bug in detail.
The YouTube videos do a decent job of showing you guys what it sounds like so I'll try to add a bit onto that. The sound doesn't get louder, but does change in frequency depending upon your frames per second. When I have my fps limited at 60, it repeats very quick. If I limit them at 30, it's somewhat slower. Aside from that, the sound remains a constant volume and is audible so long as your are within range of the Kinesis doors..It stops when the door is opened, but resumes again once it shuts. As someone else described, it sounds like the doors have a motor inside of them. It is certainly NOT just a bit of stuttering over a couple minutes and is instead a continuous, repeating sound that is loud enough to make it hard to hear other stuff going on in the game.
Please post your sound-hardware details.Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Fatal1ty with the most recent drivers
I am using the DTS Connect encoder so I can send 5.1 audio via my sound cards optical out to my Onkyo reciever.
I am on Windows 8 and I'm running the latest version of DirectX.
I can't think of anything else that needs to be said. If there are any other questions, I'll be sure to check back soon.
- Anonymous13 years ago
I've noticed that a number of people are running Creative cards. I can confirm that the sound glitch does not occur on my Windows 8 install with a Realtek onboard sound card. I'm not sure if anyone has tried this but if you have an audio control panel anywhere, you may want to disable any special effects like reverb or EAX as a precaution.
If you have onboard sound or a USB sound device (ports on your keyboard or a headset), try giving those a try. If those work, you should still reply and let everyone know what specific hardware is not working for you and what has worked. - Anonymous13 years ago
I'm running windows 7 64bit sp1 with the latest version of directx.
Realtek onboard and Corsair Vengeance 2000 headset and both have the issue.
2x Nvidia 670's
The bug occurs and impacts me like it does everyone else.
I have this bug and a Realtek onboard soundcard, using the "high definition audio device" driver from windows 7. I never have any audio problems whatsoever.
They almost have SimCity running smoothly but we still can't play Deadspace 3 :P
- Anonymous13 years ago
Well, we've ruled out Windows 8 and we've ruled out that its limited to any specific hardware.
For Realtek hardware, you may want to try to update your drivers from the following site:
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=24&PFid=24&Level=4&Conn=3&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false
The version that is included with Windows and through Windows Update is rarely updated (if at all after its initial launch).
If this works for you, let others know.
EDIT: I just looked up a video where they claimed to have this sound glitch. Are you referring to the door sound that repeats when you are in the proximity of a door that needs opened via kinesis? Ie. the sound that goes away once you leave the area. I have the same "issue" but I took it as an audio que that there was a door in the area or something eletrical in the walls.
The video I viewed can be found below:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XYIYcjbVJFI
I did look up XBox gameplay videos and I can confirm that is not present there. I'm am leaning towards this not being due to any sound card hardware/software combination at all and it would need to be resolved via a patch. Regardless, I certainly did not find it game breaking. - Anonymous13 years ago
its probably related to the physics glitches in all dead space games. the sound remainds me of when ragdoll body parts get caught in the ground and shake endleslly. probably the door doesn't properly close and its physics state goes into an endless loop of on off.
- Anonymous13 years ago
Its very possible and there is no option to reduce or increase physics accuracy that I've seen. On a body you can push/move it to end the sound. There is no in-game mechanic that will affect the door other than kinesis on the wheel. After that, its a scripted event.
- Anonymous13 years ago
I have this bug, and I have a Creative sound card, I tried disabling the EAX effects and nothing happened, I tried using the realtek onboard audio and nothing again..... By the way, nobody cares about the flashlight not casting shadows bug? this is more anoying than doors bug.....
- Anonymous13 years ago
When we refer to this as "unplayable" or "game breaking" its when a fair portion of us are no longer able to feel any sensation of fear as a result.
This portion of folk bought the game to feel this sensation...I didn't buy this game for action...I wanted chills.
When I'm hearing that constant generator sound and a monster comes out I think "oh, hello, I guess I should shoot you now".
When I am traversing a SILENT corridor from the original DS, on the other hand, and a monster pops out, I go "I'M GOING TO DIE OH MY GOD HOW DO I MAKE IT DEAD FIRST?!?!?!?!?!"...I would only pay more than $15 for the latter reaction.

Hey guys!
Please keep on using my template as we need to provide this data to the studio as constructive and useful as possible. This topic is especially only for the soundbug issue. I will extract some of the other feedback regarding the soundbug issue, but please keep on answer our questions as it make it easier for us to gather your useful data.
And btw., thanks for your feedback so far! :D

Hey EA_Bastian,
So I'm not quite sure what details you require. I just started playing the game (May 22, 2014) and this glitch occours on every (human door, not the big factory like ones) that requires you to TK and open it. The noise it makes is a split second of the audio clip that plays as you complete the TK+B Combo as the door opens. Also, if you aim your weapon in earshot of the noise, and scroll left, at times it will change the audio to the clip of the handle turning, but then shortly after go back to the clicking.
It doesn't occour in DS 1 or 2, but that could be for several reason, mainly there is no doors that require TK in 1 & 2.
I use DirectX 11, have a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660Ti, 16GB Ram, Quad Core, Windows 7 32/64.
I am a GIANT Fan of the DS Series, so much so I learned Unitiolagy Script so I can read the writing in the game just like english. I own them all for my PlayStation, and bought all 3 for my PC Just recently and am playing through them for the 5/8/4 time,
That being said, this glitch is a very large one. It has a DIRECT impact on immersion and the environment, it not only pulls you out from how annoying it is, but prevents you from catching more subtle audio that has been put into the game. Having played this on PS3 I can confirm how much it really does have a negative impact.
If you have any more questions, or need any certain information that would lead to this glitch being fixed, PLEASE feel free to contact me and I will tell you anything that you require to my ability, as I love this series and truly want this fixed.
Thanks.

I am having the same bug issue with these Telekenisis doors. When I first started playing, I thought that it was part of the game and even made believe that "Oh it's supposed to make that noise because there's no power being supplied to the door and it's to notify the person that you need kenisis for this door, Low power!" I also continued my thought, and placing myself in the game world that if a manual was created for the persons living in these ships, and on base for when the doors were installed, it would say something like this in the troubleshooting section:
Problem: "After installing my SEAR'S automatic door, the door makes a loud "clicking" sound.
Solution: "There is not enough power being supplied to the door. Please insure all power cables are properly connected to the door, and to your power source and that your power source is working correctly. SEAR's Automated doors will notify you of low power by activating a "Click" alarm, if a telekenisis module is installed in the door, you must use Telekinisis to activate the door until power is supplied.
But, now, my creative thought does not work because I have found out the clicking sound is a mere bug. Here is the questionare that you have requested to be filled out. I hope you find it usefull in your quest to resolve this issue:
Where did this bug occur?
On EVERY door that requires the Telekinisis module.
Please describe the impact of this bug in detail.
The sound is a loud clicking, or grinding sound. It is very noticable and ruins the quiet eerie atmosphere of the game. This should be a high priority to fix.
Please post your sound-hardware details.
