Dead Space 3 No in game sound

I can hear sounds in the pre-game menu, but once I load a save all sounds and voices are cut out. I can partially hear some sounds when I plug my speakers in half-way, but once my computer recognizes...

Disconnect any other sound devices (headset etc) and retry.

  If you can hear sounds when the cable is plugged in half way you may have a hardware issue.
  
  Try updating your sound drivers. If you use on-board sound then try updating your motherboard firmware.
