I have experienced this and also bought a new copy and the problem remains. I have tried clearing cache etc. but no dice. My game freezes randomly during comabt and even when nothing terribly adventurous is happening on screen. When the freeze happens the music will continue playing and I can't access the dashboard. I have to turn on and off. Keep posting these we need EA to see there is a problem here.
