I usually always click to save on a new file so yes I have a previous save. Normally I just start back where the game opens up on. I’ll try manually loading an old save to see what happens.
I've been playing these for so long, it is now a habit to save as a new one just so I can avoid issues with corrupted saves or lose progress. No one wants to start 20 hours back due to an issue.
The save file method seemed to have worked at first. I was able to play for about an hour this time until the crash happened again. This time I was using an upgrade bench. I don’t know that’s a whole different problem or if it was going to crash regardless of what I was doing. Same thing though. Smooth gameplay and sudden stop with no warning.

It sounds to me as though the saves are being corrupted. I know a few random things that can cause it, but the workbench I have not personally seen yet. I play it on the X and I haven't seen any of these and tried to repro it myself.
One thing I would like to suggest and of course is totally optional is to simply delete all save files, uninstall the game, and then do a reset of the Xbox. Not a complete factory reset, but when you go into the settings to do the reset, chose to keep all games. This way you do not loose any of your games.
Unlike PCs where you can have a million programs, Xbox you to download the same basic ones. Im wondering if there is a bad update or the game is saving and corrupting.
The other suggestion I have is to go to my games and apps, find DS, delete the player data which are updates and settings and maybe the reset or just wipe saves and test it.- 3 years ago
Ok. I’ll try deleting the save file first and see if that works. If not then I’ll try doing the uninstall / console reset. Yeah I think I just so happened to be at a bench when it crashed. I don’t think that caused anything.

Well I tried the recommended methods. I cleared the save files, Uninstalled and did a reset of the console. It was going ok until the game froze up so bad it actually turned the console completely off.

@ChanMan59595 Did it happen at the same spot, or a different part of the game? I started a new game last night and played for a while without issues as I was trying to see if the same happened to me.
