Dead Space through Gamepass/Ea Desktop Beta Won't launch

Invalid License. Reason code = Missing DLL:[d3dx9_38.dll] Error: 0x7E

The game won't launch. No matter if I click on the desktop icon or launch through the desktop app, it gives the same error. What is the fix for this? I've noticed several people have this same problem and they didn't get answers, but I can't take a simple, "Just don't play the game then." This shouldn't be a problem with no solution as it seems to be at the moment. (See attached jpeg for error screenshot)

  • So funny enough I had to go researching this problem on my own no thanks to your poor help team. There's a website floating around, Microsoft distributable. Download all of them one at a time and Intel them. Your help team is following a script and won't tell you what to download or what the actual issue is. Missing DLL means just that. The file is missing and needs to be there for the sorry * EA-forced mess of an app to launch any game. Maybe before you make your hijacked Gamepass customers learn the basics of game functionality, something non programmers shouldn't have to know, don't release a broken program app and force customers to download through it. This problem is more widespread than you know because most people getting this error aren't going to post about it.
