DeadSpace 2023 mouse/camera slew problems

Bought DeadSpace 2023 on Steam. After installing game starts and runs fine, but as soon as the intro ends and direct player control begins the camera looks straight down. I can mouselook, but i...

    Ended up digging deeper into the machine configuration and found that the vjoy device driver was installed and was uncalibrated. 
    Calibrated the vjoy device and no more camera skew.
