PS5- Perpetual cycle of death and reloading

I've seen other people have this issue but I haven't found a solution for PS5.

A monster was apparently in the room the last time I saved because now when I try to load the game, I load into a death scene. Even after restarting and reinstalling, the game begins the death sequence before the title screen even says "Electronic Arts". There is no way to load a different save file or get to the pause menu before it reloads to the next death and PS5 games don't allow you to edit save data from the settings menu beyond deleting all of it...

Does anyone know any possible solutions? Could I load the save data onto USB and edit it from a PC or something creative like that? I'm gonna be so frustrated if I have to start all over again. I just can't believe there's no way to fix something that's so simple to do on any other platform.

    Fixed it by holding pause throughout startup and somehow getting the pause menu to come up before the "game over" screen. I'm not sure why it worked this time but I hope it helps

    Okay there’s a way out of it but it’s a pain.

    Important steps to follow:
    Requires disconnecting controller after seeing the epilepsy warning and make sure you don’t have a bluetooth headset connected because it will make the ps5 overlay stick.

    Whenever you fail the attempt you’ll need to close the application and begin again.

    I was able to get out of the death loop by disconnecting the controller, reconnecting ~3 seconds after hearing the flatlining sound, and pressing X right before being able to see the message “your controller is disconnected.”

    If done correctly you will see the menu and be able to scroll down to load game. Be aware not to select the main menu option like I did or you’ll be thrown back into the death loop again.

    It took me like 100 tries to get it right but it works and is easy after you get used to the strict timing.
