[PS5] Dead Space Remake loading Save Error

When i open dead space remake on ps5 it gives me a load data error which says "There was an error loading save game data." anyone else had this problem before and any idea how to fix it?

I already tried uploading my dead space save file to the cloud storage and deleting the file from the console storage to start the game without the save files bit that doesn't work either.

I tried starting the game while it's directly on the console storage aswell as on the self bought ssd storage.

When I click "OK" on the error message, I just get a blackscreen and have to close the game.

@lemmingfuge273 I poked around on this one since it involves save files, it typically comes down to too many save files or just a corrupted save file. From everything I see on the internet, there's a few ways to fix it.

Load a previous save as in like a previous chapter if you can

Start deleting save files, load into a recent one and save the game as a new save file

Even with uploading them to the cloud or an external drive, the game is still trying to access that many of them.

You could upload them all, except like one or two maybe, then load the game again and manually load into one with the cloud turned off.

  • I found the issue is something way funnier than it should be.

Because I was playing a different game with mouse and keyboard before starting dead space, I didn't have a controller turned on, and for some reason the game can't load save files and just gives me a permanent black screen until I close the game again 💀

Idk how that's the reason but I tried a few times with and without a controller turned on and I am 100% certain that is the issue.

So basically make sure you have a controller turned on when you start the game on consoles.

Hi @lemmingfuge273, this happens with quite a few games and other apps. I get errors and messages through the Xbox app and Epic app if the controller is not on before I start the application. I have to close everything down, turn on the controller, and then restart the app in order to get that to work.
