Community Manager@97010dfcc4e826a5 Thank you for the details on this one. So the reason it is happening is because it is linked to the same EA account. Playing through Origin/Steam now does not matter because it is all linked to the EA account itself. Even if you played through the EA app last week and did it, the same thing would happen.
We have passed along that info to see if it can be changed in any way but at the moment because you are linked to an EA account, there is not currently a way to do it.
I am an achievement hunter myself, so when I swap platforms, I like to obtain them all again and I have put in that feedback myself.

The solution I used to stop it from happening was to create a new EA account and link my Steam and Dead Space 3 game to the new one where there are no previous achievements. Not ideal I guess, but it will suffice.

Yeah definitely not the ideal solution no but, it does work for the time. It always feels good when you finally hit that achievement. Especially for those that are harder to obtain. I've spent my share of game time trying to get a handful so I understand when they pop automatically, you want to earn them.
