Have a similar issue?  on chapter 10, while new 'scene' graphic intensive areas like open or walking out from elevators or turn the  handles and activates power. Specifically the handle you need to turn just before the DRILL scene. My computer would crash eith with bluescreen and memory dump or just freeze with screen going blank. I did as many test as i could find.  I am running graphics on VERY HIGH settings with crossfired sapphire 7970s.

Usually a bluesceen mean something on my end is probably messed up like memory of corrupt copy of the game or supporting software.

I put my computer and gfx cards to stock clock speeds -  

Went to Origin and did a right-click a verify my copy of the game - 

Reinstalled AMD CCC drivers 13.2 - 

Game still freezes

After  many fails and rebooting my computer (which is extremely bad and dangerous for data on a raid 0 system.  I have already had to resote mycompter from crashing and  ruining my striped drives) i finally turned my graphics down to LOW.  The freezing and bluescreening has stopped.  I have been able to play the game up to chapter 10 without any issue with very high settings. 

I tries to do a process of elimination with graphic settings by putting it into custom level and turning off Anti-aliasing / SSAO/ V-Sync / Anisotropic all to disable and I got a bluescreen or complete lockup still.

My computer is water cooler with Corsair M80 cooler and never goes above 45c-50c.  My gfx cards are on a custom fan profile to not exceed 70c.

Again, the game crashes when processing gxf in chapter 10 when elevator is about to open to snow scene and also where you have to turn the level to activate power to weapon console just before the drill scene in the arena where stasis recharge are on the perimeter.

Caveat:

I typically dont like to submit issues especially if there is a work-around but I just spend a decent about of money for 2 good video cards.  I dont not want to play in LOW settings.  I also play Battle Field 3 in max settings, Crysis 3 in max and Tomb raider when I just clocked 130fps in their benchmark.  I havent had ANY video anomolies and computer freezes on these games.  And another thing,  I actually PAID for these games and actually LIKE the Dead Space series.

Any help with the problem or future eta on a fix would be great.

Update:

I turned all my settings back to very high after getting to chapter 14 and everything seems to be running smoothly so far.
