Would be great if they did, but there were a few marketing problems with at least the remake game:
Censorship! In Japan, on all consoles it's completely banned! That's a pretty big market.
It's censored in Germany, and I don't remember perfectly but several other countries too, Australia for instance.
People don't like to buy censored games. I work in Japan and bought the remake as soon as it launched. I read although I don't fully trust the source, that after a few months it was censored even on PC, like the Resi games.
"decapitation," even limbs is totally banned in Japan. Ridiculous. Seeing as cutting of the limbs of the monsters in the Dead Space games is one of the main features of game play, censoring it would give a 5 minute long game lol.
As for Resident Evil games, it's easy to purchase a legit key from Gamesplanet U.K and add it to Steam. Then we get the full version.
Not sure if I am allowed to write the above sentence about RE games, so sorry EA admins. If so please delete that sentence.
Additionally, it's been a while since the first remake was done. If planning to do it for DS2 it would already be done, or at least notice would have been given to build up the excitement. I'd sure buy it (on PC only as I live in Japan)
