Will there be a Dead Space 2 Remake

Does anyone think they will be a Dead Space 2 Remake? i have been a long time fan of the Dead Space Franchise and i tried the spiritual successor to Dead Space, aka The Callisto Protocol and in my opinion it fell way WAY short of the mark. I know me and a friend of mine is hoping for a Dead Space 2 Remake cause the games i feel were left on a cliff hanger at the end of Dead Space 3 as they still had more source material they could have covered to make a Fourth game but....

Agreed, Runs great on my PC. i9 9900ks with an RTX 3080ti. Maxed, with frame rated limited to 85fps in NVCP. No crashes, and looks great.

You might have a hardware issue. I’ve played the remake on both Xbox and PlayStation and am playing it on pc and I have never had the issues you speak of. The remake is Beautiful I believe on par with the resident evil 2 remake for best remake of all time.

  • Would be great if they did, but there were a few marketing problems with at least the remake game:

Censorship! In Japan, on all consoles it's completely banned! That's a pretty big market.

It's censored in Germany, and I don't remember perfectly but several other countries too, Australia for instance.

People don't like to buy censored games. I work in Japan and bought the remake as soon as it launched. I read although I don't fully trust the source, that after a few months it was censored even on PC, like the Resi games.

"decapitation," even limbs is totally banned in Japan. Ridiculous. Seeing as cutting of the limbs of the monsters in the Dead Space games is one of the main features of game play, censoring it would give a 5 minute long game lol.

As for Resident Evil games, it's easy to purchase a legit key from Gamesplanet U.K and add it to Steam. Then we get the full version.

Not sure if I am allowed to write the above sentence about RE games, so sorry EA admins. If so please delete that sentence.

Additionally, it's been a while since the first remake was done. If planning to do it for DS2 it would already be done, or at least notice would have been given to build up the excitement. I'd sure buy it (on PC only as I live in Japan)

EA killed Visceral due to low sales despite great reviews. They reassigned Motive due to low sales despite great reviews. They want a survival-horror game to do CoD numbers and wonder why it doesn't meet their projections.  Don't hold your breath.

  • There were talks about it. Some people said that they were rough drafting the second one and it was going to be made. But EA denied this and said that not enough revenue for the first remake was earned to even think of making a 2nd one. (Honestly a lie cause it gained more than enough). So maybe. We don't really know. They say they aren't but its EA.

  • Honestly, I hope they don't. They screwed everyone with the first remake. It's been 3 years, and most bugs/crashes/instability still haven't been fixed. I still cannot play the game on my PC without the TITLE SEQUENCE making my entire computer freeze and crash. They shoveled garbage out the door and charged everyone $70 for it.

So no. EA, don't try and remake any other game. Just fade into obscurity and be forgotten like Dead Space: Remake
