Account Banned/Suspended but I have no idea why

I haven't been able to access EA servers since I bought Dragon Age: Inquisition for Xbox One yesterday.  The game menu tells me that my account is locked, and I had to contact EA support for help.  When I was finally able to do that, however, they told me that the email account attributed to my Gamertag was banned.  I haven't played an EA Game since Star Wars: TOR in 2012, and that was for PC, not Xbox, so when and why did my account get banned?

I have tried twice now, and my request is not successfully being submitted to accountdisputes@ea.com, so I'm concerned my account access will never be restored.  Can anyone here give me some insight as to what's actually happened with my account?  Thank you!!

  • I have sent an email to this account from a couple different personal emails, as suggested by the Support department, but the first I receieved back said "The delivery could not be completed."  And in the unfortunate circumstance that this continues, I was hoping someone from the department might be able to contact me either directly or on the forum to provide more information...

I can only think of two occurences that might've caused this, though I'm curious as to how exactly.  in 2011, my Gamertag was hacked and the inidividual made fraudulent purchases of xbox live points while playing FIFA 12 (not connected to Origin, but still).  This matter as resolved with Microsoft, but I didn't think to call EA, since I didn't play/own any EA games at the time.  The only other thing I can think of would be that I played Star Wars: TOR for about 2 months (which WAS connected to Origin) in 2012, and perhaps EA sent me an email saying someone was trying to access it, but I can't recall.

I recently spoke to Support again, and they say the account is definitely Suspended, not Banned, so I'm hoping this is a liftable thing.  I'd really rather prefer not to have to switch Xbox Gold and my game licenses over to a new Gamertag just to play Dragon Age multiplayer :\

As it seems at least one of the emails you sent to that address was successful we need you to wait for a response from that team.

You can expect a response via email but you will not be reached out to via AHQ by them.

  • I would like to report a follow up, that my account was successfully restored. I don't know if EA follows these threads after the fact, but I would like to thank you all for your work and consideration!

I had the same thing happen to me and I'm still waiting for a reply from the "TOS Team".   I tried playing Dragon Age Inquisition for the first time last Wednesday night after having purchased it back in May.    I finally got someone on chat but they said I'd have to email the "TOS Team" for resolution.   It's been 5 days now.....

What really irritates me about this is that there is nothign in the Origin client indicating that the account is banned/suspended, and I never recall getting any messages saying that it was banned/suspended.  And, LIKE YOU, I haven't played an Origin game in probably a year or so.

This is all really annoying.  It's especially annoying because there is really no way to contact someone over the telephone or chat to get it resolved sooner rather than later.    It's starting to feel like they're committing fraud.
