Banter only triggers once an hour and no background music

Hello,

I've bought the game recently and I'm on the latest patch, but companion banter only triggers every hour or so. I heard it's supposed to trigger every 15 minutes,

I've timed it without pausing, using horses or teleporting, and it did trigger eventually, just - it took about an hour. And another hour for the next one. I've barely gotten any banter during the game, it's really hard to explore for an entire hour without going back to restock.

I've heard people complaining about this bug since the game was released, it's been half a year now - why hasn't this been addressed? Banter is the most important part of the game. I'm way overleveled for the Western Approach and I'm running around randomly just to hear it.

Edit: And I just found out this game is supposed to have background music! I don't have that either, wtf. Please do something.

    I recently picked up Jaws of Hakkon and started up a new game again. I'm in the same boat. I downloaded JoH and the 2 multiplayer packages, started 2 games, both have had almost no background music aside from battles or triggered events. That goes for the banter as well. Every is just silence aside from triggered "This area looks dangerous" type statements.

    Edit. On a PC. Also, paying more attention I've noticed that the background music does play one loop as I load into an area. Once it completes the loop, I do not hear it again until another area (going through a transitional door for example) is loaded. I've heard the random banter during that initial loop, but once it ends, I do not hear it again.

    Further testing, I've noticed during the loop if i open any menu, game or loot, the music sometimes comes to an abrupt end and I don't hear it again until another load.

    On a side note, I've notice my followers seem to freeze as well as my controlled character (happened to be my inquisitor) froze in that "avatar placement" stance with arms out to the sides after a battle begins or during battle. The only way to break it is to take control of the character and jump.

  • I'm also getting into the game late and only discovered by chance that the three whole banter sessions I've had in over eight hours of gameplay is not normal. (Well it is, but shouldn't be.)

    I've also realised that most world music doesn't exist. I didn't notice for a long time because the sound *effects* remain - bird calls are plentiful and sometimes when I trip over a dragon there is a flourish of music to let me know what a big deal that is but otherwise... nothing of the DA soundtrack which is supposed to be quite good, apparently.

    I'm on PS3, fully patched as of 10/06/15 and the three bits of conversation I had were: 2 x with Cassandra, Virric & Baldy prior to the ability to split up the party and 1 x with a remixed party immediately after killing a dragon (so I assume that was situation-triggered dialogue).

    I wish there was a central reporting area which kept track of how many users reported certain errors. By the look of the 'tracked error' page though (which doesn't mention conversations/banter), there's plenty of other bugs occupying their attention right now.

    I'm on PC and I am having this issue now. They were bantering before, but now there is no conversation at all and no background music. This REALLY annoys me as the party banter is one of my favorite things about this series. Is there any fix for this? Like an unofficial patch for PC or something that will fix the issue?
