- Anonymous11 years agoThis happened to me. Crashed my game twice. Third time I skipped through everything quickly and when the loading screen appeared I just button mashed. Whether or not any of that actually helped, I could not say, but it worked that time. It's possible it fixed itself (also on Xbox one). If not maybe a full restart might work like unplugging your system and trying again?

My brother and I have the same problem with this quest. With mine it shuts off the game and I have to restart it and my brother his cuts scenes freezes. I figured out that if you cut through the scences by pressing x then it will fix the frozen scene. It isn't a good solution, but it is the only way to get around it.
I'm also experiencing this bug on my Xbox 360 :c

Mine freezes right as I approach Cole to give him the amulet. I tried twice, had to restart the 360 twice.
This has happened to me twice now, and both times I've managed to get around it. Try to keep going back to various other previous save files, and eventually you should be able to talk to him about the amulet. It seems like the save files that ultimately worked were also hard saves, not auto saves.

I'm still running into this issue on a xbox360 and have tried loading an older save but am still having the issue. I have even tried loading before the quest chain had started but it still freezes. any advice?

Still on my first playthrough on 360 and had this problem. Couldn't talk to him once I actually acquired the amulet. I was able to get to the cut scene with Solas twice where it would freeze and then I got locked out completely. Tried loading earlier saves, restarting the amulet map mission and the old fashioned stubborn route of I'll-just-keep-trying-until-it-works.
I had pretty much given up, continued along with other quests and such but kept checking back. Suddenly yesterday, it worked. Talked to Cole, no freezing. Completed his quest. Twice. The first time I tried mashing the X button repeatedly like I've read others did -- it never worked before. I ended up skipping through most of the scene until I had to choose a response. Played the quest again without pressing X and it went through without issue.
So... I have no idea. Maybe it fixed itself many, many, many hours later or after all my failed attempts or, maybe, Cole finally recognized my pain and fixed it for me. I guess I'll never know. -_- It would be nice if this didn't happen again.
