"Connection to the session has been lost." Single Player Xbox One

Whenever I enter combat, the game immediately kicks me out of the game and takes to the main menu stated "Lost Connection to Session." The worst part is that I'm playing single player and I never played multiplayer. I beat the game before and I beat all the DLCs, but never had this problem until now. I unstall and reinstalled it, load the game, unplug my ethernet and plugged it back in, played offline, and NONE of them worked. I don't want to start over because it took me a couple of months to get where I'm at because its such a long game, but I don't know what to do.

  • @visswwag This is unfortunately a common error for some people (though most I've seen have been on PC), and doesn't seem to have anything to do with internet connection. Some people (possibly only on PC) have found disabling cloud saves has helped, others seem to have an issue with a corrupted save/character and starting a new character has helped (but unfortunately left them unable to continue the first character).

One random thing to try if you've noticed the problem happens in combat, is to make sure you don't have a mage using fire spells in your party. I vaguely remember a certain spell causing issues for some people (but again, only for certain inquisitors), unfortunately I don't remember which spell it was, just that it was fire.

Sorry I don't have better answers (especially for such an old problem), I don't know anything xbox one specific that could be causing issues. Let us know how you go?

  • Thank you, but this truly does suck. I am a mage and all my mages have fire abilites. I did start over and deeply sadden because it took me a couple of months to get where I was at for its such a long game. Also, It works and I don't have any problems on my new character, but it does suck. Thank you so much for your answer; you helped A LOT more than the EA advisors which is sad. I'll give you XP. I'm just trying to get ready for the next Dragon Age that is coming out and this is setting me back. I hope it doesn't come out later in the year.

@visswwag Did you actually get the game working properly with the inquisitor you were having issues with?

If you want to try out the mage thing without using a tacticians renewal, you can use tactics to ban your companions from using their fire spells, and obviously avoid using them yourself, just to see if it helps.

As for Dragon Age 4, I don't think you need to worry about it coming out any time soon, I suspect there will be a lot more news about it when it gets closer to release 😛
