Crashing trying to load game

If your game is on PC, then I HAVE YOUR SOLUTION.

As you start up the game, open Task Manager (Control+alt+delete), select Dragonageinquisition.exe from processes, right-click and select 'set affinity', Then disable one CPU Core (I disable CPU 2). 

Once you are in menu, click continue (your game should not have frozen by this time - if you have disabled the core before you get to the menu), then once your game is loading or loaded, reenable the core by following the same steps and clicking the unchecked CPU

Thanks for the tip! I tried it once, though, and my computer still crashed and rebooted while the save game was loading. I'll try it again, bringing up the task manager sooner (before the game gets to the menu). Hopefully that's where I went wrong. I'll stop back and report how it went.

OK, i followed the instructions and disabled core 2 before the game got to the menu (before I had to click to continue) and it worked! Thanks again.

I have this same problem. I've played about 20 hours or so, but I get the computer reboot while the save game is trying to load. I've tried a bunch of different things (windowed mode, repair game in Origin, turning off Origin in-game, deleting saved games, etc.) but nothing works consistently so far.

Still having the game crash on me every time I load a save.  Tried disabling one core while game was starting up but still just crashes to desktop when loading the game.

Disabling cores is an interesting idea, I wouldn't call it a solution though.

I'm convinced there is a corrupt file somewhere. It's the only explaination as to why the game went from playing fine to crashing. The game itself is the only variable- computer hardware is constant.

Anyone have ideas as to what files I should be poking around in? This is my first DA game so not sure how the structure works.

Alright guys did some more troubleshooting, here's what I found:

Ran the benchmark- works just fine

Started new character/game- works just fine

Quit game, then loaded new character save- works just fine

Loaded origional character that would crash- game crashed

Loaded earlier save of that character- worked

So here's the bad news... it appears the latest save somehow became corrupt. If you have an earlier save try loading that after you've ruled out hardware (by running a bench and starting a new game)

I think it's more than just a corrupt save, and here's why. I tried deleting save after save and still had the PC crash at load save game. Autosaves, quicksaves, my own saves--all crashing. I tried the core disable trick and successfully loaded a save game that had previously crashed, so I don't think the save itself was corrupt.

Thoughts?

i have the same issue i was walking around western approach picking flowers and my game crashed to desktop. now anytime i try to load any of the 4 saves in western approach my game crashes if i go back 20+ hours i have a milestone save that will load but i want to make sure i dont corrupt that save as well. why did this happen? what causes it? will it happen again? how did it not just corrupt my current save, but 4 saves all on the same instance? can i fix it or is my progress lost? and wtf man i just paid 70$ for this game?

Yeah this is interesting guys. Clearly there is somekind of bug here. I don't even have the slightest expertise to guess what the problem is though. I can say I played for a while yesterday and haven't ran into the issue for a second time...yet.
