Cutsceen black screen/crash

OS: Windows 7
CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1100T 3.3 GHz
System RAM: 8 GB
Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6800 Series
Graphics Memory: 3.9 GB (4095 MB)
Hard Drive: 1.21 TB
DirectX: 11
Origin: Disabled from displaying in-game

My rig should be fine running this game, and indeed it is. However the game freezes and turns black minimizing to desktop randomly during cutscenes. The first time the game crashed I got a directx error. Which I was able to correct. Now it just crashes (often repeating audio) forcing me to close it via task manager.

I've tried disabling origin in-game, which helped stuttering issues, but didn't help the crashing at all.

Any help is appreciated.

Side note: Which graphic setting does hair fall under? It looks plastic at my current settings.

When a crash is accompanied by looping audio this is often an indication that your audio driver is causing the issue. Try updating or reinstalling your audio drivers.

For the hairy thing, try turning up the Mesh settings. Fixed it for me.

I can completely see that being the problem. My audio driver has failed to update for 3 years. I'll have to figure out a solution.

I did notice the sound getting wierd when the game crashed to desktop, followed by a DirextX error message:

I also checked and found my Soundblaster X-Fi drivers are back from 2011. There's been a new release May 28, 2014.
Let's see if this helps.
