Hopefully someone has an answer/solution to a bit of a bizarre bug I've been having with Dragon Age. Music and Character conversations play just fine if a bit hallow and echoed but the ambient and effects sounds skip constantly. For instance in the prologue as I'm walking along in the snow the sound of the wind will cut skip and restart over and over. The bug is noticeable even at the main screen. Sound effects during cut scenes seem off and buggy also, which is all maddening to try and hear while playing.PC Specs: AMD Phenom II x4 975GTX 97016g ddr3Windows 8.1I've updated my audio codecs and have installed the latest Nvidia drivers. The game itself I've also loaded and reloaded onto a different hard drive and often check back for patches. I've also used a variety of bluetooth headphones, wired headphones and speakers and the same glitch on everything. Thank you for your time.

Kia oraI have a simalr issues but, I use a compiolit ( device that hangs round my neck that talks via bluetooth to my hearing aids) this has a jack pug that plugs into the headphone socket, if I use this I get echoing very low voice dialog and normal sound, if I use my speakersas normal the dialog is ok. I tried to set the audio from 5.1 to headphones and no change, seems the audio channels in this game are limited and it's not transfering to the right places. I get the felling it's the fact we use headphones thats broken, it cant play 5.1 to headphone correctly

So just to confirm... EA are ignoring this utterly game breaking bug and don't give a toss we paid for a game we can't play?

Wish it was that simple. I've tried speakers as well as headphones, bluetooth and wireless. The one throughline I've seen on this board and others seems to be quad core amd cpus. I ordered a soundcard and hoping it may solve the problem as I still find the game just unplayable at this point.
Just to reitterate: the problem for me is not the dialogue or music at all. On my rig the sound effects and ambient noises skip and studder every few seconds as if is out of sync with the gameplay.

Have the same issue on ps4. So is my friend. Echo, as though they are speaking and walking in a big corridor or room. Very off-putting.

My issue is very similar. On the main menu it's perfectly fine but in game the ambient sounds glitch and stutter or fall silent completely and the music stops and disappears too. as it persists all sound effects start to glitch as if they're cut short and not fully playing. Oddly, voice acting never fails and always sounds fine. I'm on a PC and have also read about EXACTLY the same issue on the PS4. I've done all the usual fixes updating drivers and changing sound frequency and theres been no change.

If you have multiple audio devices (e.g. Realtek HD, Sound Blaster, Nvidia Geforce, ...) make sure you disable all the ones you're not using. For instance, if you're outputting audio through your graphics card, disable the integrated sound chipset in the device manager and bios. I don't know if that will actual fix the issues in this game, but it's a recommended practice for gaming in general as multiple active sound cards can result in issues in several games.

Also make sure the in-game audio settings are setup correctly. If you stereo speakers or headphones, the in-game dynamic range has to be set to stereo/headphones. The home theatre setting is reserved for surround sound setups.
