DA:I Issue: Cannot 'Click to Continue'

I'll start with my system specs (you can find those below in the included file, but I'll also paste-bin here at the top): https://pastebin.com/ahYPApns

Earlier I was having a separate (but maybe still relevant, just in case) issue where the game would crash whenever it started. I did a lot of things to attempt to fix that and disabling all of my firewalls/antivirus like Avast AND disabling the Origin in game overlay together fixed that issue. So the launcher launches (FINALLY!), but I find that it is NOT RECOGNIZING MY PERIPHERALS! Goodness, after several hours messing around I am pretty tired of this. I managed to figure out that it is literally not recognizing any peripherals - not my mouse, keyboard, or gamepads (I've tried more than one!). Either it just shows a loading cursor with no click cursor forever, or sometimes if I tab out and back in it will show the click cursor arrow, but WILL NOT actually let me click anything (though the computer will still allow me to move the mouse around). I've used an XBox360 type controller that works for other games that accept the official controller with no issues, I've also used the Nvidia Shield controller. I've attempted to launch the program from GeForce and Origin, both regular and in administrator mode. I've also attempted to run the game itself in administrator mode.

I cannot access the 'options' on the splash screen. 'Click to continue' is all that shows up, so I cannot mess with the peripheral settings. I have tried to go to the actual DA:I save folder and open up the profile options file and attempted to change the value of the gamepad setting in notepad from its default 0 to 1, which did get the game to respond that it wasn't recognizing a peripheral and that it would revert to using keyboard/mouse. However, it will not actually revert to using the gamepad/mouse, as I cannot even click 'OK' to get out of that error. I changed the gamepad value back to 0 and saved it before exiting, which has left me with the original issue of not being able to click anything and no error messages.

If it's at all relevant, when I went to run the DXDiag app from command, I got an error that said there was a problem retrieving input info. I assume 'input' means peripherals. I'm not sure if there's something relevant in the DXDiag pastebin up there, but just to let you know. The actual keyboard and mouse work fine in every other program.

I've included the actual DXDiag text file in addition to the pastebin link, and a screenshot of the screen giving me the problem.

Well, the first solution didn't work, namely because there was nothing but the mouse to disable. But the second one seems to have! I figured it was probably a third party problem after I'd tried basically everything related directly to Windows but was frustrated because it's usually a firewall issue and didn't seem to be in this case. But obviously something is causing it. AT LEAST I CAN PLAY NOW! But it'll probably take me a while to figure out what program is causing the issue. Still, I'm monumentally closer than I was before, *and I can play*, so thank you!

@TangledRivers Thanks for the detailed post. I know around launch we saw a couple of issues where other peripherals would gain primacy over pads or KBM controls, but these should be sorted by now.

If you check your Device Manager I'll guess that your peripherals will show up as normal. However it might be worth checking if something else is being detected as a game controller. You can try temporily disabling any other input devices (like your touchpad) and see if that has an effect.

You're right that I've tried Device Manager and everything is normal. Some other measures I've taken to no avail: I've updated all drivers (graphics card, all input devices, etc) if available, verified integrity of game files, restarted the computer, restored to previous version of windows, re-updated operating system (Creator update for Windows 10), fully disabled all malware/antivirus, unplugged and re-plugged peripherals (and made sure they were plugged before opening the application).

I will try disabling peripherals to isolate others and see if that works sometime later today, but still welcoming all suggestions because I am *DESPERATE* - this is killing me, I just want to play DA! I'll report on success or failure later today. I do already have my touchpad disabled by default (because I don't use it), but maybe disabling and re-enabling after will do something anyway. I don't have high hopes for this suggestion but I'm literally willing to try anything right now.

Wonderful, thank you for the update.

In cases like this we'll usually turn on half of the regular startup programs, then test. Depending on whether the issue manifests again, we can add/remove items until the culprit is identified.

Good luck, hopefully you can get this cleared up quickly.
