DA:I stutters

The game stops for a second or so every 15-30 seconds. My rig meets all the requirements and recommendations in terms of specs. It's a dedicated gaming PC, so very, very little is running in the background; only the bare necessities.

EDIT: The CPU, chipset, and graphics are all liquid cooled. Nothing gets hotter than 33C.

Specs:

ASrock Z77 OC Formula

Core i7 3770k @ 4500MHz

GTX 780 w/3GB local RAM

16GB DDR 1866MHz RAM

SoundBlaster ZxR

1 OCZ Vertex SSD

2 WD Black 2TB in RAID 1

Pioneer BD-RW

Steelseries 6G V2 kybd(no drivers); Logitech G502 mouse

All drivers and firmware are completely updated. I've tried running the game on medium, high, ultra, and many custom settings, and the stuttering happens anyway. I've even lowered the settings way down and overrode them w/Nvidia Control Panel so the game would still look good, but no avail.

Any thoughts?

  • UPDATE:

The new Nvidia driver (v.344.75) appears to have eliminated the stuttering.

Never mind. Nothing to see here. Carry on.

  • Hmmm. I get the same exact thing happening.

    AMD FX 8350 BE 4.2

    Asus Sabertooth 990fx Gen 3

Dual Sapphire 2gb 6950s in Xfire

    8gb Gskill Ripjaw

    1tb WD Velociraptor

    Logitech G510

    Razer Mamba 2012

    Win 7-64

Every 30-45 seconds it 'hiccups". Just for a split second but it's continual. Like all the time, non stop. Newest AMD 14.11.2 beta drivers don't seem to fix what is happening.

Anyone else running an AMD rig and have this problem or a workaround?

    My Rig:

    FX6300 (3.8GHz)

    HD 7870 2GB

    4GB RAM

I am also experiencing this issue. And not found a work around. I am also using the latest beta driver from AMD (14.11.2), which it says its for DA:I.  I can understand the issue for an NVIDIA card but you would think that this wouldn't happen on an AMD being that FrostBite Engine implements Mantle and would be readily optimized for AMD GPUs and AMD CPUs. Though right now, this is my lady's rig, which is having the issues. So she is playing it on my rig smoothly (i5 with GTX 970) for the time being until I can fix this or Bioware and AMD can come up with a patch to fix this issue. It is playable just very annoying.

  • Same issue here. The fps is really smooth for the most part but every once in a while the game freezes for a split second and sometimes skips audio. This happens even if i turn everything on low, so I don't think it's a graphics setting. I did try the latest nvidia drivers and it seems to have helped a bit but it's still noticable. I've had to turn subtitles on due to this.

I'm currently running it on an MSI Gaming Laptop (GT70) with an Nvidia GTX 770m

My computer isn't a beast, but it runs smoothly on mostly high settings. I'm having the same issue with frequent stuttering. It happens mostly during dialogue (not only during cut scenes). The game will hitch for a moment and then repeat the last half second or so of audio. It also happens occasionally, though much less often, when I’m just walking around and exploring. If it helps, a lot of the time when this happens it sounds like my hard drive is spinning up to load something.

My video drivers update again yesterday, but the problem is persisting.

    Core i5 (3Ghz)

    Radeon R9 280

    8 GB RAM

    Windows 8.1

    Game on HDD

Yep same thing here, i have an r9 295x2 and the game runs perfectly at 60 fps but it stutters every 5 seconds when mantle is enabled. Enabling the frametime graphs shows its the cpu stuttering, yet I have an i7 3820 running at 4.4ghz - ridiculous. I'm just wondering if this is a driver issue or game issue?

I have the digital PS4 version and after 40 hours in, upon returning to Haven and only in Haven, the game lags every 10-15 seconds.
