DA:Ultimate - DLCs Present, but no Promotional Items

Hello, all. My apologies in advance if I missed the answer to this while searching in the existing threads.

I've recently built a new rig and nostalgically decided to play DA:O. I installed DA:O Ultimate through Steam, as I did on my previous rig (and the one before that). Everything works, except that the promotional items are missing. The items from the DLCs (High Regard of House Dace, Vestments of the Seer) are all there, but the promotional items like The Lucky Stone and Pearl of the Anointed are not. I was able to manually add the Memory Band through the console, but none of the items with ids that start with "prm000im" seem work; I get the "success" notification, but nothing is added to inventory.

These items were always there in my inventory at the beginning of previous games.

Any thoughts?

  • The free promotional items aren't included in DAO:UE, and have always had to be installed separately.

I know Origin downloads and installs them (and I believe the GOG version of the game does as well), but I'm not familiar with Steam's offering... though a quick glance at the product page for the game does not seem to mention the promotional DLCs being included.

So, first, I'd recommend confirming whether or not the promo item DLCs are installed > Click on 'Downloadable content' on the menu load screen:

That will open a list of all installed DAzip content (both Bioware and any community created mods). If the promo DLCs are installed, they'll be in that list:

If they aren't in the list, then the next step is to determine whether that is an issue with Steam, or not. And if Steam does not include the free promo items in their DAO:UE package, they can be downloaded and installed manually from Bioware's CDN, via the Dragon Age Wiki > Downloadable content (Origins)

As someone who wanted to get the promo items on my steam account without having to buy it again on Origin and the game not recognizing it from Steam to origin it's easier to use this link:

    http://dragonage-dlc.narod.ru/DLC_manua.htm

and download the dlc individually and then use the DAupdater to upload them into your game. Please be advised that some content may require you to use a CD Key but for the promo items that don't well there you go.

The free promotional material doesn't come with the Steam version. You can authorize them on Dragon Age Keep through Careers > Dragon Age: Origins > Rewards. As for the files you need to download, the Downloadable Content (Origins) page on the Dragon Age Wiki has links to official downloads. Looks to be through BioWare/EA's CDN. Just clicking on the links won't download them if you're using Chrome, you'll need to right-click and choose Save Link As. You'll then need to install the DAZIP files by running DAUpdater.exe found in <path-to-game>\bin_ship.
You could also use the CD Key for Dragon Age: Origins: Ultimate Edition from Steam to activate the game on Origin (EA's Steam competitor, not the game) and download the promotional material that way, but Origin appears to have an update for the game that Steam doesn't have.

EDIT: I just realized that 1. Someone already provided the same answer that I did, and 2. The previous poster necroposted.

I close this thread to prevent further necro posting.

The last post above this one and post #2 both contain right answers for this problem.
