DirectX error/crash on launch.

I get this error when attempting to launch the game from the Origins Launcher:

"DirectX function "CreatePixelShader for DX10Plus/SMAAEdgeDetection_prediction=1" failed with E_OUTOFMEMORY ("Direct3D could not allocate sufficient memory to complete the call."). GPU: "NVIDIA Geforce GTX 260M", Driver: 8.17.0012.5738 6/28/2010 10:51:00. Free virtual memory: 4293786384kB / 4294967168kB. Total resource memory: 0kB. Make sure you have a supported graphics card with at least 512 MB. "

I have an Alienware M17x, Nvidia Geforce 260m. I have the latest drivers from Dell for the card, which are the only ones that actually install. I've tried downloading the latest drivers for the 260m, and it says I already have the latest drivers installed, and the 344.75 drivers which are "Game Ready" for dragon age, and they aren't compatible.  I have DirectX 11.1.

Help?
