Dragon age character origins all default to grey warden

Spoiler
I bought Dragon Age UE through Steam but after I activated the DLC any new character I create has only one origin option for every race, which is Grey Warden (instead of human noble, city elf, dalish elf etc) Elf origin goes straight to the Dalish elf storyline so the city elf option is essentially unavailable. All characters start in Grey Warden armour and when I later run into characters from my origin, the origin-specific dialogue is missing. I assume it's related to installing Awakenings since the character there is a GW to begin with, but I'm wondering if it can be fixed, hopefully without having to start my human noble quest from the beginning! TIA

I have never heard of that issue @mgnw.  Are you using mods and could you join a screenshot to see what it looks like exactly ? Thanks.

I have a few mods - dragon age redesigned, improved atmosphere and mabari companion fix. You can see in the screenshot where there should be an option for city elf and daelish elf, there's just grey warden. It only happened when I activated the DLC, which I had to do via the DAupdater app because steam didn't automatically include it.

Thanks for the screenshot @mgnw. That looks like the normal character creation screen for Awakening. There's nothing wrong with that since your character belongs to the Grey Wardens in Awakening.

Unless you are seeing that screen when creating a new Origins character? I may be confused by the question.

Yes, this is the screen I get when I try to create a character in Origins. So a human character starts at the Cousland home in GW armour, an elf starts in the forest in GW armour, etc. And any story points and dialogue specific to the origin aren't there once the origin story is completed.

That's really the first time I see this phenomenon. I would suggest to uninstall all the mods and try again @mgnw

I uninstalled improved atmosphere and my origins are fixed. Then I reinstalled it because a bunch of my NPCs were missing clothes, but it doesn't seem to have screwed up the origins this time.
