Dragon Age Inquisition crash on launch (window opens but closes right after)
Ok.. my dxdiag hastebin is here http://hastebin.com/izamijukuy.tex
Im running windows 10 home on my new computer.
I7-6850K, 32mb ram, 2xTitan X 📷 in SLI, I have everything installed on my SSD (Intel 1.2Tb)
I have been playing DA:I on and off for the past month or so without issues apart from the odd "loose" texturetile that goes away by itself when the area is reloaded.
My problem now is that DA:I completely fails to launch, it goes through the cloudsync properly and then immidiately closes the DA:I gamewindow right when it is supposed to pop out the loading icon.
The steps that led to this bug occuring are as follows:
1) I installed the latest NVidia driver (376.19) via geforce experience.
2) This led to origin failing to launch completely!!!, which I fixed by deleting origins local programdata (except for the LocalContent folder) and forcing origin to recreate it.
3) Upon finally getting back into origin i discovered DA:I would not launch.
4) I removed the new NVidia driver and went back to the old one.
5) DA:I still would not launch.
I have since uninstalled DA:I, reinstalled DA:I. no success.
I have uninstalled Origin completely, and reinstalled it, still no success.
I am currently on the new NVidia driver still since reverting to the old one did not fix it for me. I suppose i can try again using software to completely purge the driver and associated content from windows before going back to the old one, but this is getting ridiculous.. and speaks loudly of an inappropriate intimacy between EA software and the hardware it runs on when a driver update can break things like this. (I should add that the reason im currently looking for new drivers is that the SLI bug in BF1 is still there.)
I can add that heat is absolutely no factor in this setup.
I have been running the gpu's without overclocking for this and with the watercooling they have they can oc quite a bit without getting even a little hot.
The cpu is overclocked but well below its maximum OC i have for benchmarking and it is similarly cooled and never gets anywhere near 70C even at full load.
Anything else I need to add? origin or DA:I logs?
If you know of anyone succesfully running DA:I with the 376.19 driver feel free to let me know here.
I guess the moral of the story is the old "if it aint broke dont fix it!" which i never seem to learn... and the new driver didnt even fix BF1 for me :/
Edit: I did try ccleaner to get rid of old registry keys also.. found quite a few but no success.
I also do not run AVG.
2nd EDIT:
UPDATE: I just got it to launch properly.
steps taken to do this:
1) reinstalling dragon age: inquisition yet again. - no success so far
2) turning off SLI in the nvidia driver - no success so far.
3) turning SLI back ON in the driver and launching DA:I from the desktop shortcut instead of from within Origin. And it worked! how about that???
DA:I still fails to launch from within Origin for some reason however, I will keep this thread active until tomorrow in case it bails on me while playing.
3rd Edit:
WOW!, that didn't take long... just 5 minutes after my last edit and now it wont launch at all again, I'm speechless!
Trying to launch from the desktop shortcut now will just autoclose the DA:I window and pop me into the Origin shop, not what I wanted.
4th Edit:
I may just have solved it.
I deactivated Origin's in-game features from the game settings for DA:I inside the origin launcher.
Apparantly I was on by default after the reinstall and I never knew I had it off before.. so i guess thats it, I hope.
At least its looking good again, 3 succesful launches in a row, guess this was a solution.

Confirmed this morning: the solution works.
Disable Origin's in-game feature.
