Having the same issue, and no one can seem to give an explanation of whats happening...
Have you tried my solution to log in to your EA account from the main menu in the game itself? I remember once that there was a problem with logging in to the game itself if the password had some special characters such as: , . !@#$%^& and so on. If it still doesn't work, you probably have some special characters in your password, and if not, I have no idea how to fix it :( . I confirm that logging in in the game itself in the menu worked.
