So i just bought Dragon Age: Inquisition for PC and I inserted the first disc which prompted Origin to open and begin copying the discs after i typed in my activation code. At 64% of the copying process (on disc 2 out of 4) a message popped up saying "disc read error". I clicked 'Try Again' and the copying continued but the notification remained so I closed the notification which ceased the copying process. The only option that remained then was to download the game so I clicked that and it is currently downloading. Does this interruption mean the game will be missing files or does it have no implications? I'm very confused and any insight would be greatly appreciated.

If this helps anyone, I'll be glad because this has been one frustrating evening......I bought the deluxe PC discs because like so many of you I did not want to wait for the digital download and got stuck with the Origin fiasco. Here is what worked for me:1) Insert Disc one and select "AutoRun ", this will take you through the Origins set up. Go through this step and sign in for the Origins platform.2) Inside the Origins platform, go ahead and enter your product key for the Deluxe version at this stage. You can get to this from the Origin drop down menu "Redeem Product Key".3) This is where I had messed up before 😕mileyembarrassed: Inside the Origins box, click to go Offline. Then you go into the Origin drop down menu again for "Download Que". Once this box has opened, tell it to cancel your digital download that had started. You HAVE to do this for it to start copying the discs. It will give you a warning that you will lose all progress, but do it.4) Open up your DVD/CD Rom drive, disc one should still be in there. Close it again. Now with Origins offline, you will be prompted to start the install again. At this point, you should see it start to "Copy" from your discs. You will be prompted to continue until disc 4. When disc 4 finishes, don't eject.5) Now tell Origins to go online once you have reached disc 4's completion. This will start the game updating and finish any digital material from the deluxe edition. This takes an additional 10 minutes maybe.I had tried all the steps before without realizing that I needed to dump the digital progress. Honestly, was afraid to do this in case the discs still wouldn't start working correctly. At this stage, had four + hours in trying to get this forsaken game to start. Talk about a buzz kill. They pretty much killed the mood for tonight's gaming entertainment.I wanted to write this because there was so much confusion regarding installing/uninstalling programs, etc. This was the simple solution for me. I have Windows 7 so there was no operating system error. Best of luck to you all, hope this helped.

Discs 1-3 copied quickly, but disc 4 started off at a crawl, slowed down to practically nothing around the 21 GB mark, and stalled out altogether at 21.57 GB. When I glanced at the disc the first time it happened, I didn't notice any scratches or anything, but after the 2nd time I realized that disc (and that one alone) has a strange irregular discoloration around the outer perimeter. I can only see it if I tilt it in the light just right. Total off-colored surface area is maybe 2/3 of the disc. Very curious to know whether anyone else having this problem sees the same thing on whichever disc is stalling out for them...In any case, I don't really want to download the game, either. I *wanted* to install it off the hard copy.For those who did give up and download, did you still get all your deluxe edition extras? I'm debating now whether I want to give in and download too, or ask Amazon to replace...

Oh, hey, you guys: I saw another thread where someone suggested putting Origin in offline mode and trying again. I tried that and it copied all four discs, no problem. It just finished installing!I turned Origin back to online status and it automatically started downloading all the extras.Hope this works for anyone else having this issue.

This happened to me twice and I am too impatient to try a third time, so I'm downloading the game. Unfortunate, since I specifically purchased a physical copy in order to, well, have a physical copy. Sigh.

As an update to anyone curious, I just finished downloading and installing the game and it works perfectly fine however it is running through Origin instead of off the disc but I'll take what i can get 🙂 beautiful game <3

I had the same problem with discs stalling out (disc 2 stopped installing and wouldn't start again, kept getting error message). It has a big discoloration like Fugue described. Same with disc 4. I'm trying to download it now. Slowly. We'll see how that goes.
I also tried going offline in origin and going through the normal windows install/run thing, but I couldn't get anything to work that way. Do you have to do anything special?

I also have a hard copy of DA Inquisition I'm trying to install, but when I've entered the product code it's telling me that I've purchased the Digital Deluxe edition. Just nod and smile and proceed with the install and see what happens? Not sure what other options I have.

I tried installing from the disks as well and it only let me install 16% of disk 1 and would after clicking on resume 3 or 4 times and it quit. I tried to download the game and it gave me an error of File folder in use or some such like that there. So exited out and tried to use the redeem code option and it says that code as already been redeem.
So what now I pre-ordered DA Inquisition months ago and patiently waited till it was released get it and try to install it and nothing. I guess I gave EA $65 US dollars of hard earned money and get nothing in return?! Help from EA would be appreciated

Just for reference, I couldn't get the installer to run from the disk at all with Origin already installed. It would just close immediately after opening. I removed Origin from my system and tried again and it installed fine (albeit it took about an hour). Hope this helps anyone having similar problems with disk version.

I tried going off line and it told me it couldn't install in offline mode. So I'd like to know how you did this feat.
