Dragon Age: Inquisition on Origin - Xbox One Controller Gets Stuck
So I've got my Xbox One controller hooked up to my PC via a micro-USB cable, running on Windows 10 etc.
Anyway, when I first started playing DA: I a couple of months ago it was having this problem of after a few seconds of gameplay, the game would stop taking in any input from the controller and the character keeps on running in the direction they were facing. I unplug the controller from the controller port (not the USB port). reconnect it and then it works again for a few more seconds and then repeats the whole problem again and again.
I don't know what magical thing I eventually did but it started co-operating and worked fine for the most part (would repeat the issue every other day I played it) and I beat the game, yay. So now I've come back to the game a month later and it's happening again!
The Microsoft website recommends getting a new controller, but this game is the only game that this issue happens on; every other game it works flawlessly and this never happens.
How can I fix this? I've already gotten the Microsoft Xbox One Controller driver on, the controller isn't dirty/faulty since it works fine on every other game and the settings in the game are set to gamepad... essentially everything is set up properly, at one point it magically fixed itself and now it's back to doing it again.
It seems that the issue was due to the controller being plugged into a USB 3.0 slot and works better with a 2.0 slot instead. 😞
