Dragon Age Inquisition Potion help needed.

Ok folks was at camp and refilled my potions I've got the healing which auto fills; I've got the potion of regeneration which I keep filled. And I've got one called a Rock Armor tonic which it won't allow me to make. Now I've got three spots on the belt  Healing, regeneration and the 3rd is locked. How do I unlock it and would this be the reason for which I can't make the Rock Armor tonic?

Also how do I make it to where the potions are stronger/ more potent?

The 3rd slot is unlocked with an Inquisition perk.

If you can make the Rock Armor tonic, you should be able to replace the Regen potion with it. Check you have the relevant recipe and materials.

  • Ea_David, is correct, in that the third slot on the potions belt is unlocked with an inquisition perk.

However, making the potion itself, can be an issue if you don't have the herbs needed to craft/refill it.

In the upper right hand corner of the potions screen, you will see the list of herb needed, and what you have in your inventory.

It will appear as red text if you do not have the required herb, for each ingredient you need to craft/refill it.

It will apear as white text, if you have enough of each herb.

But if you do not have enought of, any one of, the herbs needed, you will not be able to craft/refill it.

This is also true for when you upgrade your potions, tonics and grenades.

Indeed. Rock Armor Tonics need Elfroot, so it should be pretty easy to stock up.

to upgrade your potions, tonics, and grenades you have to use an upgrade potion table at haven(in the same place you refill your potions, at the table next to it.. where you give.gave the research notes to ADAAN (near where solas is) , skyhold (undercroft), or another keep you have taken control of.

Thanks for the great information on the potions.  Since I've not been back to the war room for a while I guess it's time I get back there and check some things out. I think I've got 2 perks to spend.

  • It shouldn't apply to that potion but be aware some potions only apply to certain classes. An example is Tears of the Dead, that is only equippable on weapon users (ie not mages)
