Dragon Age Keep Login Error

About a month ago now, I started playing Dragon Age Inquisition again and everything seemed to be fine. I changed my Hawke from a male mage to a female rogue using the keep and everything was working correctly on my new playthrough. I then went to make a couple other changes but now whenever I try to open the keep and hit sign in, I get the loading symbol and then it just says "oops, and error has occurred". This has been happening for weeks now. I've tried uninstalling any and all mods I had, making sure I hadn't enabled the console, creating a new character, saving then reopening the keep to try and force it to sync. This did not work. I tried different browsers and devices but nothing has worked. Is there any other way I could try and resolve this so that I can make further adjustments to my current world state both for the currently available games and, potentially, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf?

Just tried that now, but still not working. Same error as before. I can sign into the account but as soon as it tries to load the tapestry it loads for a little bit then says "Oops, there was an error."

I didn't but I've just created a new account and logged in with it. That appears to be working.

    Hey Everyone,

I wanted to give an update on the DAI Keep.

I had some folks look into this and from their investigation, this is what they found. What this comes down to are a couple of things. If you run into the error when logging in, the keep is trying to pull data from one of the following places:

    • Your keep saves
    • Your game saved data
    • Mods that were installed or are installed for the game

If mods were installed and removed, the data is still stored on the save file.

There is data that is corrupted and when it pulls the data, it errors out. In order to try to resolve this, you would need to do the following in either Steam or the EA App.

    • Turn off the sync to cloud option if you have that on.
    • back up your save locally and overwrite the existing slots with new unmodded save games
    • Manual saves should be located here C:\Users\user\Documents\BioWare\Dragon Age Inquisition\Save

This is also why some new accounts work and old ones do not. There is no "corrupted" data being synced to the keep.

    Ok following this advice:
    1. I have purged literally everything Dragon Age related out of my hardrives (yes, all of them) as well as the Origin (didnt used EA App since it breaks Mods).
    2. Downloaded EA App this time and redownloaded Inquisition, Dragon Age 2 and Origins + Awakening
    3. Turned off sync both in EA App and ingame

    4. Started new game on native unmoded install and made my first save, then quit the game

    5. Went to Dragon Age Keep

    6. "Ooops" error as usual

    however

I made "fake account" and that one works including exporting the world states i set up giving me the "save slot will be overwriten" message. So the question is, will purging the old Keep account data fix this issue? Meaning clearing all the world states. This however would require a server side action rather than client side. If so iam valunteering and whoever from EA staff feels like it (if anyone) can clear everything in my Dragon Keep

This is good feedback thank you. So the reason the other account works is because of that data. The mod thing I get but that is the majority of why.

One thing I would like to try is to install CCleaner (it's free) from here

    • Clear your registry first.
    • Run cleaner
    • Check fix all
    • Back up no

Then go back in and make sure everything DA-related is purged along with a browser cleanout from cache and history.

    • Press the Windows key + R, go into the file explorer, type in %temp%, and hit Enter
    • Delete everything it allows you to delete.
    • Then in the same run box, type, %programdata%, and hit Enter
    • Delete everything in the Origin folder or EA App except the local content.
    • Reboot the PC

Once we do this, we log back in with your normal play account, you log in as fresh and it tries to pull no data since there is nothing else to purge from the system. There are multiple ways to get rid of data and that is what we want to do.

Ok, did as you said, except the CC cleaner as being a sysadmin i hate such software it only f..... things up. If there is a need to delete certain keys ill do it manually if you tell me which ones, but there seems to be no problem in EA / Bioware related keys.

The Temp folder data is cleared of everything but my Adobe Creative Cloud data, cant delete those sry.

In ProgramData there were only 3 folders in EA App, Local Content which i kept, Subscription and Catalog Cache, both deleted.

Tried to log into Dragon keep, but iam still getting the Ooops error, it seems like i can see some of the functions and account data and progress however if i try to access tapestry, heroes or world state i get a error

I totally understand not wanting to use a program. The issue there is that the point of the program is to clean out the registry because you don't know what files need to be removed. For this one there isn't a way for us to say remove files ABC because we cannot suggest players manually go delete registry files from their PC. If that breaks that falls on us.

When it comes down to it though, the keep is trying to load data that is corrupted, and the only real way to know is start doing a lot of PC clean up as above. This is why new EA accounts work and the originals do not.

One other way is to download your game to a different PC that hasn't played, turn off all auto sync and load up into the keep and the game and save over a new file to your cloud.

I've also had the same issue so I followed all the steps from the thread but I still have the same error message no matter what I do. I ended up deleting the EA app along with every Dragon Age game just to be sure and then ran CC cleaner to make sure everything was gone. Also deleted Firefox as a good measure and didn't log in but it doesn't help either.

Just like the person above, I can only see the everything except the Tapestry, Heroes and World State section, but with the career one sometimes the popup of the error message appears.

    Hey everyone.

Thank you for the updates. I will pass the info along to the team. With Dragon Age: Dreadwolf it is hard to say when the keep itself will be updated. It is still online and working for players, however, with the info that was pushed down, the steps provided, or creating a new account with no data is currently all the updates we have on this one.

If you find any further workarounds on this one, by all means, let us know we will pass that along, but as of now, there have not been any further updates on this specific issue.

I would like to ask everyone to try to get on a mobile device or tablet. Make sure to try and use a different connection - data vs different WiFi than your own network.

    • Log out of any browser you have of any account - for example: if you log into Chrome on a PC, and it has you signed in on mobile - log out
    • Completely clear all cache, and browser history from that device - you want a new fresh browser
    • Reset your EA account password to something simple for now

    • On your mobile device, go to the keeps log-in page and log in with your EA account
    • Do this on all browsers you have on your device to test it
    • If you get in, click the hamburger icon on the left
    • Go through the account check and replay startup options as if it were the first time.
    • Click on world state and click delete.

The attempt here is to get you far enough to edit the data and delete it. How you get in is entirely up to you, as long as you can get in.
