Dragon Age Keep problems - pre-filled DA:I inquisitor??

Hey guys,

I've had an absolutely horrible time trying to get my Keep details imported into DA:I. I initially had problems with my origin account and gamertag not being linked properly, but that's now fixed. I've filled out all my details in the keep twice now (for some reason it lost all my details the first time around), but now I can't get it to sync properly...

When I start a new game it tells me I've successfully imported a custom world state, but every time I reach Haven and talk to Leliana she tells me the female warden is dead. My warden is male and very much alive! (Thank you demon baby!!) I've now restarted my game 3 times trying to get it to work.

I've just had an idea of what the problem might be - in the tapestry of my custom world state there is a pre-filled Inquisitor on there (a female warrior). I never selected this and have never played as this class. I have no idea how to remove this - if I create a new state to edit it clones the state with the pre-filled inquisitor; if I try to delete the world state it won't let me and says that I need at least one world state. The best I can do is change the pre-filled inquisitor to one of my inquisitors that I started playing that didn't have the custom world state import properly.

What should I do? I've never had so much trouble in simply playing a video game before, I absolutely love the DA series but I'm about ready to throw the game out the window.

Please help.

  • I would just start a new world state and ignore that old one. Change the name so you know for sure this is the world state you will be be using, do not call it Default World State. Change all the decisions to the ones you want. After that, exit the Keep (log out) then log back in after clearing the cache on your web browser. This will make sure the Keep is loading data from its site, not displaying saved data on your computer.

Now log back in and verify that all the decisions are still set up how you wanted and nothing was changed. Now make sure you set the world state as the exported version so it will be the data imported by DAI during character creation. It will give you a time and date stamp. This has to match what shows up during character creation. If this does not match, then you are importing default world state data. This is the default world state:

As you can see, default warden is female and she died killing the archdemon. So it seems you keep playing the default state. So either you are not properly setting up the export, or your accounts are not properly linked. Here is the link from the log in page of the Keep with FAQs about getting the keep connected and set up:

I'm not sure whether it was clearing the cache or whether there was just something corrupted with my original world state, but this did the trick! Thanks!

  • @simongradkowski   I know this is old, so did you get the customed world in the end? Recently I wanted to change Stroud to Alistair, made a new world thing and have anora ruling alone - yup this turned out well but it's NO Alistair. I've played Inquisition lots of times, it's just this round I wanted to make it different. bummer

@INsaneyAC Have u gotten alistair customed before? How exactly to get him instead of the moustach guy?
