Why is this game listed on biowares website as mac available?

The game i bought from origin wasnt mac availible, but the bioware website said it was.

What is going on?

I'm so confused!

  • The disc version of the game is for both Mac and Windows computers. On Origin we only have the PC version at the moment:

You are mistaken, sir.  I bought both Dragon Age Origins (deluxe version) and it's follow-up Dragon Age II.  I downloaded both games onto my Mac mini and both games ran perfectly fine.  Loved the games and both games ran flawlessly.  Neither game came from a hard copy.  I bought both games from the Mac game store online.  Now I have a MacBook Pro and tried to download the games from the Mac store for a second time.  Downloading the games from the Mac store sent me to the Origins Website whereupon I had to download the Origins game platform before the games.  Fine.  Dragon Age II downloaded without incident, but the download for Dragon Age Origins (the best game of the two) kept coming up with a message stating the game has no Mac version.  As I said before - not true.  When I contacted your support and explained the problem, with the lady continually interrupting me to tell me the game wasn't made for Macs, with me continually telling her the above - their solution was to send me an activation code for the PC game!

This should be an extremely easy problem to fix, shouldn't it?  I'm sure that Mac users like myself would appreciate access to a game we BOUGHT from Origins/EA.  If this problem can't be fixed, then refunds are in order (or credit toward a purchase of one of your like-minded Mac compatible games).

  • Sorry, but no one here can do anything for you.  The AHQ is for player-to-player  technical self-help and game-play discussions. When you post here you are not talking to BioWare, EA, Sony, or Microsoft. (And definitely not Apple.)  We're all just fellow gamers, doin' the best we can...

EA gave-up supporting the Mac versions several years ago.  That you were able to play successfully back then is great.  That you cannot do so on your more modern hardware is a sad fact that results from being a Mac user who wants to run PC games.
