2021 April / May...on xbox one x, put in disc 2 ultimate edition all dlc disc (reviisted this like 2017 2018 like almost every year). All i got 'there is a problem getting this content at this time' ergo YES forcing to rebuy ALL the DLC. Server isn't available. HECK I"M SPAMMING THE XBOX REPORT THE PROBLEM TOO. This also applies to Fallout 3 and New Vegas complete editions.
Oh my god guys. I played Origins years ago on PC. I missed DA2. Now I'm on Xbox and I decided to play Inquisition but after replaying 1 and 2 again first. Then I realised the Origins servers don't work anymore and my progress doesn't upload to the keep...
That just did a big number on my enthusiasm to play Dragon Age ever again.
The only way to do it would be to manually update the keep whilst playing the game for every single choice I make. That's a chore and totally unimmersive. Total turn off.
I can't believe some idiot decided to turn these servers off. There must be thousands of veteran Dragon Age players like me who will encounter this issue and seriously think about whether they can care about Dragon Age 4, now.
The servers are not connecting to the game consoles for Origins. I don't know why; they connect to DA 2 and Inquisition. However, they DO connect on the PC. Why that is different from the console servers, I have no clue.
Anyway, what I've done is create my character on the PC, and play a bit of the game on the PC (through the character origin story at least). Then I look for the character I created in the Dragon Age Keep. It should appear after a day or so. Then I would recreate my character on the console (I have both the PS3 and XBox One) and play the game there.
Once the character appears in the Keep, I can create my new world state with that character, and build the story the way I played it on the console. That way, I can import that game to DA2 and play that game. In the Keep, I update the tapestry and export that world state to Inquisition, and I've got the story the way I wanted it. It's a bit of a long way around the issue, but it works as long as they won't connect the servers.
I've since learned how to use the keyboard to play the game on the PC, and it gets easier the more I play. But the other way works too. A bit of a pain, creating the character twice, but at least it works. Hope this helps.
