EA App won't allow DA: Inquisition to launch.

DA:I was bought on steam, completely vanilla, no mods. Everytime I try to launch the game it goes to the "launching the game screen", syncs the cloud saves... and just shuts down. I've tried uninstalling and re-installing EA App, cleaning cache, deleting the EA folders, launching both the game and the EA app as admin, checked the files through steam, used the EA repair function, launched on safe boot mode and... nothing. After checking numerous other threads, and checking that every other steam game launches fine, I've concluded that the problem is the EA companion app. Is there any way to fix this ? It's absurd that, due to no fault of my own, I am unable to play the game that I've paid for.
