Some of vendor menus in the game don't cause it. However coming out of any of the options or character menus always does it.-Happens across all characters. Started a few days ago on my third character. Unfortunately I don't remember what I was doing when it first happened. I'm not even sure I noticed it when it first happened.-Loading into an actual area also causes it. Sub areas or quest specific areas don't seem to cause it to happen.-It is not the Origin Achievement sound effect.I really don't know how it happened. Maybe I interrupted the original sound effect going into a menu and it bugged out? Why is it happening on all my characters? Any help would be appreciated.

@IndianaJinxMod that may help....That is a mod on the Nexus, which has all sorts of mods for DAI as well as other games....if you use search function for cheat, you should get list of a few mods that use the Cheat engine and contain active links to it if you want to try it out. Personally I don't mod DAI, but many do and Nexus is usually a good location for mods and info on them.

To specify, the issue comes from having more than 20k influence after reaching inquisition rank 20 (like, if you buy those books granting 200(?) power, thus overlevelling) the simplest fix is to use cheat engine, along with the table by olegbl (found here: http://forum.cheatengine.org/viewtopic.php?p=5566220)The steps are simple: this is only for PC1. Open CE, attach it to the DA:I process (preferably using the VEH debugger, check settings for that. not using it can cause crashes)2. Open the table you got from the link3. Check the box next to the inquisition editor (all the values will show up as "??")4. In the game, go to a random shop and buy/sell something (to update values ^)5. Edit your amount of influence to 190,010 (giving you 10/20000)6. Restart your game and enjoy being rid of the annoying sound(do note, reaching inquisition level 20 takes an accumulated amount of influence of 190,000 so it's ok to have your influence anything between 190,010 ~ 209,990) it seems Influence still accumulates after reaching the highest level (odd though...) so if you end up going above 20k again, re-do it. *[edit: i initially thought you wouldn't gain any more influence, but i was wrong in that assumption]**I did not take part in making any of the stuff used, so no credits to me on that.**For anyone afraid of using cheat engine, i can say as much as you won't get banned for using it to manipulate single-player stuff, but if you are too afraid, start the game in offline mode or something, do the stuff and then close and uninstall CE or whatever floats your goat.***This is a temporary fix and i do not -in any way- encourage the use of cheat engine for anything else than bugfixing, whatsoever.

Pulling this thread from the depths because I'm encountering this bug too, my inquisition influence xp is above 20K and I'd like to know if there's a way to fix that annoying sound bug. All the links in this thread are dead. I couldn't find a mod to remove the sound from the database.Please help...

I started experiencing this bug today. When I complete a quest, it's like the regular "close menu" sound effect has been replaced by the "quest completed" sound effect. If I load into an area? Quest completed sound effect plays. Close the map or menu? Quest completed sound effect. Load a bugged save? Quest completed sound effect.
I've tried reverting to an older, non-bugged save, but the bug just winds up happening again anyway. Nothing I've tried has fixed it.

I am getting this also.
My guess is this is caused by my influence level being maxed out at 20 (bought a lot of influence from vendor). But I notice that influence is still accruing past the 20000 mark.

I have found the solution. You need Cheat Engine and cheat table from cheat engine forum to change your Inquisition level. Apparently bug is caused by maxing inqusition level or buying power from merchant in Skyhold, at least in my case.

This happens when you reach influence level 20, then you will be stuck with the bing as level 20 influence is the cap but the game keeps trying to add more but cant, hence the influence level up bing. The only solution i found is avoid getting level 20 influence.
