As soon as the game starts, open the Taskmanager, search the "dragonageinquisition.exe", right click it, search "Set Affinity" and disable one or more cores. When you are in the game, do the same to enable all cores back again.

please try the fix i posted above, so far it solved it for several people i spoke with.
I tested it. Out of 5 start ups, it worked 5 times in a row.
I let it sit at the menu for 2+ minutes each time.
1 of 5 starts eventually did freeze again, after 3 minutes, I was in the "Extras" menu at the time of freezing.
But this is a viable work around, still not going to "accept the solution" because this is obviously not working correctly.
I'm afraid the affinity workaround doesn't work for me. Game freezes in menu regardless, I can't even change my settings :/
