Experiencing this as well, more often than not, it manages to cconnect to the servers and the second i go to tweak the graphic settings(its all i've been trying to achieve) and restart the game, the game beats me to it and freezes.
Tried reinstalling Origin, restarting my PC, same results.
Fairly annoying since I've been extremely hyped to play it.
Running a quad core PC, appears to be one of the reasons from many of the people suffering the same fate.

I found this as well, and a (not ideal but workable) solution is to change the options one at a time.
1) Change option to preference
2) Press Back
3) Save Change
4) Re-enter menu and repeat above steps for all other options.
You'll likely freeze/crash after every two or three option saves, but it will accept your preference when you reload the game.

It's more advisable to do the work around, if it doesn't work for you.
Then don't change a few options at a time. Just start a New Game or Continue one. And set the options after the game has loaded as it won't freeze at all for you.
