Gamebreaking Support Glitch/Bug

I've had a ton of issues with Dragon Age: Inquisition lately: the game freezes when I minimize it, slows down to a crawl in windowed or fullscreen windowed mode, crashes to desktop frequently during combat or when I enter the Hissing Wastes with the shadows set to anything but low, and there are flickering textures and grasses everywhere.

Now all of these are really annoying and I've been putting up with them for months, but they're not quite gamebreaking. However, recently I have encountered a gamebreaking bug. You see I went to Bioware's website to get help with all of the issues I've been having with the game, but when I clicked on the "Technical Support" link it took me to some website called "Answer HQ." I didn't think anything of it at first until I started asking questions on this Answer HQ. That's when it happened. Nothing. No responses to any of my questions.

So I decided to look further into this thing. That's when I found out that there is in fact no technical support staff on this technical support website. It seems to expect completely random people with no technical experience to fix each other's problems so the developers don't have to. And it seems I am not the only one to have encountered this gamebreaking glitch either. I have heard from many other sources that they too have been transported to this Twilight Zone of technical support when trying to get help with their problems as well.

PLEASE Bioware! Fix this bug!

...Oh wait. They can't hear me.

No one can.

As far as answering most of your questions...well, you don't bother to put in much info, and until the question about the low frame rate you didn't even bother to put in basic info, which is BARE minimum to even start to try and help you.

As far as this being a player to player help forum...yeah, and I bet if you look at some of the people here and throughout the gaming world, I bet you would find they know MORE about computers and even games than the average tech support guy for any company.  They sure have the ability to try and fix things that are broke on a much wider scale than a tech support guy reading from a computer screen list of do this, try this, call me back and enter the 15 digit case number and wait on hold again you get from many companies.  But hey, see the site above for the EA help center....bet you will have to give more info on your game, system and problems than you managed to give here too.

Oh, and as far as playing worse in windows mode....I think the titan is a dual GPU card...and playing in windows mode, I THINK disables or reduces one of those GPUs similar to the way it does in SLI and Crossfire...so basically if what I think is happening is, you are running on half your video gpu power in windows than you will in fullscreen getting the lower framerates.

Oh wow a response! A rather snide one, but a response nonetheless. You seem to have taken personal offense to my criticism of this support site, which is a little strange, but I apologize. You also seem to have missed my point, which was that this support forum lacks any support staff. The website you linked is not a support forum, it is a very limited and equally useless support database.

I'm sure you are correct that there are people on here with a great deal of programming experience and technical expertise. You clearly have much more of both than I do. However, those people who can actually help are few and far between, and even they don't have technical experience on this particular game. Most companies retain a few developers who had a hand in programming a game to act as support staff on the game's support forum. This is not the case for EA and Bioware.

As far as not providing enough information, I am not a programmer and therefore I don't know what information is necessary to fix a given problem. If anyone had responded and asked for specific information, I would have been more than happy to provide it.

I do thank you for your explanation of my problem with running in windowed mode, although it doesn't actually help me fix the problem.

Again, I'm sorry if my original post offended you in some way. It was meant as a lighthearted joke, not a scathing rebuke.

    Cheers.

Maybe because "Tone" is really hard to get on a written forum....

Maybe because you have been on the forum since November....

Maybe because This is at the VERY TOP OF THE DAI FORUM PAGE..

Welcome to EA's new Answer HQ!

Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or brand new to the gaming world, everyone needs a little help sometimes. So we’ve created EA’s new Answer HQ. It’s a community initiative to have players share their gaming expertise with other players. This is the place where your ideas shape the community, where sharing knowledge is rewarded, and where you can climb the ranks to be the hero. This is only the beginning. Welcome to EA’s brand new Answer HQ!

So again...official help where you can get in touch with "people" who "know" the game like you want...http://help.ea.com/en/

Also you can search twitter...I don't follow them but I know DAI devs have a twitter feed too.

I think that when someone calls a support site a gamebreaking bug, it's pretty obvious that it's a joke. The fact that there is a description of the flawed ideas behind this site at the top of the page should have only served to make it more obvious that I was joking. And I don't know what my having been here since November has to do with anything.

You can keep linking to that other site, but it's not going to change the fact that there is no support forum with actual support staff for this game.

Also, this may be a written forum, but I've had no problem picking up on your tone, and it's unnecessarily hostile. I simply stated my opinion about this site. If that differs from yours, fine. However, there is no logical reason for you to come here and try to start an argument in an asinine attempt to discredit me. I make no claims that my opinion is the only one or even the correct one. It just is what it is.

Your opinion is it is flawed...to me it seems to be working pretty well for a lot of people.

You make a big deal about NOT having anyone here that is a rep of EA or Bioware who actually knows the game....and then you complain when I point you towards the location where they are actually at....so make up your mind, do you want the OFFICIAL tech support with people who work with EA or not??

Your other option is to work with people who AREN'T with EA....which is here, which you made fun of and disparaged and called 'flawed"....so I figured you wanted the OFFICIAL site....

Sorry you can't stand someone calling you on your BS...now this is last time I post here.

you have a choice when you go to that site that was recommended you can live chat (mine said 60 to 85 min I'd have to wait) have an adviser call you at home but that seems to always be a long wait also or you will be brought back here to this web site all other games I own play on max settings and run silky smooth I know it's not my machine  Nobody should need to do anything to there PC to make this game work but as long as half the people out there deal with this kind of garbage they will claim success and fix the PC issues whenever they feel like it. while I still love this game I myself will be requesting a refund for the company I received the game from as they sold me a product that don't work and they don't seem to care that it don't work. the only response you will receive here is a snotty one such as you received EA Hosts this sight yet it is more reminiscent of Toms Hardware or Tech Net or other such help sight nobody here is required to be nice or for that matter be qualified to give advise anything you do to your machine (workarounds / fixes) as a result of reading this site are at your own risk.
