Immortal Demon Glitch

You aren't supposed to kill the demon. You are supposed to attack and, thus destroy the white spires that form the binding circle. That frees the Spirit of Wisdom and, completes the quest.

@DarkAmaranth1966 You can attack and kill the demon, it's a choice. Solas won't be very happy if you kill the demon, but not everyone wants to make Solas happy. 😉 

@krazytwokats It does sound like you're experiencing a bug (this quest seems very prone to bugs, unfortunately). Do you have a save from before you approached the area where the demon is? If you approach from the east, your companions might make some comments about some dead bodies along the way, once you get close enough a cutscene should trigger, after which you'll be in battle with the demon (and the spires, which are what you need to destroy if you want to save the spirit rather than kill the demon). If that isn't what happens, you need to load an earlier save and try again (and keep that earlier save until you've successfully completed the quest).

Yup. I ended up shutting the whole PS4 down and going to bed. I'll see where it left off tonight, if it's still glitching or not.

Are there more glitches with the digital copy bought from the PS store than a disk copy? Doesn't make sense, but you never know.

As far as I'm aware, the disc and download versions are identical. As Niah said, this is indeed just a really buggy quest.
