In game dialogue options not loading DAO

During my playthrough of DAO, I hadn't experienced any issues until I reached the Circle of Mages. In both my original file and a secondary file I created to see if the problem persisted when I created a mage character, during the first dialogue option I cannot view the choices. In some cases, I was able to use the numbered keys to select a dialogue, but that is an obvious disadvantage when I don't know what I'm selecting.  I have also cleared the cache based on the EA Help instructions, but the problem was not remedied by this.
