Inquisition not installing --- stuck at 27%

I am having a similar problem.   DAI downloaded OK, but stuck at 27% when installing.

Origin -- what the heck?

Really bad form here for a Day 1 release on such a great game.

Very disappointed and frustrated.

Hey, can you try restarting your machine with a Clean Boot, and launch Origin as an administrator?

If the issue persists, try temporarily disabling your anti-virus and try again.

  • I had same problem and the message that Visual C++ could not be installed, after this the instal was cancelled. Solution for me was in the Origin games files directory C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\__Installer\vc\vc2012|redist.

Set the vcredist_x64 exe with compatibility setting for Vista SP2 and after this the instal worked.

both answers did not work for me

  • Try CTRL+ALT+ DEL, go for services and finalize "DXSETUP32". It worked for me.

Apparently its because im using 64bit OS and the origin tries to install a 32-bit version.... (maybe not, but it worked anyways)

I went into C:\Program Files (x86)\Origin Games\Dragon Age Inquisition\__Installer\vc\vc2012|redist and ran the vc executable manually.  Then I tried the install again and it ran without a problem.

  • Had the same problem with none of the proposed solutions here working. The file causing the issue for me was the 2008 VCREDIST/C++ file - it seems there was a similar issue with sim city and battlefield 4 through origin download. You need both the x64 and x86 files for the install to work correctly - there's an Origin help page here: http://help.ea.com/uk/article/your-vc-runtime-package-has-not-installed-correctly-error-troubleshooting/

Easiest way is to find the 2010 VCREDIST package through windows (http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8328) and install this x86 file into the same directory as the 2008 file. Alternatively, you can find the files from a successful download through origin (again in the _Installer folder) and copy them to the Inquisition folder.

    Hope this helps!

Apologies for the copy/pasted addresses, am updating from my tablet.
