Keep Caer Bronach, "Cannot open from this side"

So i'm doing a quest to claim and clear a keep called Caer Bronach and when i enter the second inner courtyard i engage the enemy bandits, at my first time the bandits in the upper sanctum come down and open a door to fight my crew. I decided to quick load, after the quick load i stealth attack the guards in the courtyard with Cole but there are no sign of the guards coming down trough the door. Now im stuck at the courtyard with a door saying "Cannot open from this side" and theres a ladder that cant be reached and needs to be let down from the other side of the door that wont let me trough. Am i doing something wrong here ? I have tried every possible entry point to the castle and when i try the sea level entrance from the outside it says i have to claim the keep first.

The only way I was able to fix it was by reloading and advancing more aggressively, so that they would call for reinforcements. When that happens, the soldiers will open the door from the other end, giving you access. Barring that, I couldn't see any other entrances that might help. I focused attack on the melee fighters first, leading them back away from the archers where I could pick them off, then coming after the archers with the last one by the door. Keeping the last one by the door should ensure that you're able to alert the rest.

I wanted to do that, but there's no one left to kill. The only person there is one single highwayman who I can't target or interact with in any way. He just paces. Da fuq EA?

Don't use necromancy spells there and disable them on your party spellcasters tactics (Dorian can resurrect dead mobs to fight on your side).

There is a tiny ledge around the door. use it to get across. Thats what I did. Just need to walk slowly so you dont fall.

wrong place, sir. the glitch has moved from there, to the door of the room with the claim-point.

I had the same problem as you. Here's how I got around it. There are multiple quests that require you to take the keep. I just left, loaded up a different quest and came back. There was a new set of enemies on that to floor that opened the door. I hope this works for you too

Well, I don't know if this would work for someone else but once I encountered the bug (on the final door before the claiming point) I fast traveled to the nearest camp and walked again from there to the keep. Somehow that helped, the guards spawned properly this time and the chief came out of the "locked" door.

Had this problem for the first time today. In my map there were still some red points (enemies) even though I thought I had killed them all. I went back down the stairs and noticed an enemy glitch (I think) on the battlements. He just stood there but I killed him and the door opened automatically for more enemies to appear 🙂
