Letters from Red Jenny crash - Quest broken - Companion lost

When doing the letters from Red Jenny quest. my game crashed during the cutscene.

It was the known directX error...

But the game autosaved and if I reload. The NPC stands still and I can't go back into the cutscene...

This is the part where you get a new companion... So i'm screwed...

Or I can reload a save state from 5 hours ago....

SO PLEASE FIX THE DIRECTX ERROR....
