Massive FPS drop on PC
I get 60-80 fps normally, with the cap of 30 in cut scenes. But every 15-20 min fps drops to 3-5 fps for 20ish seconds, then its fine for another 15-20 min. Can happen anywhere, anytime, exploring,...
Normal cpu usage is around 45% during game play, 50% during a fps drop.
gpu usage is around 35% during game play, drops to 0.30% during an fps drop,
All games are installed on a secondary drive that is an ssd, no excess writes are happening to this drive during fps drop.
Being off-line has no effect, drops still happen.
You might want to check your RAM usage as well. Since Patch 5 was applied my game started randomly slowing down to 1 frame per 30 sec. Seriously. Checking my RAM usage showed 99% of 36 Gb in use with only DAI and Origins running. Had to reboot to get RAM usage back down to its normal levels. I've noticed this problem begins to occur after several hours of continuous playing which is generally indicative of a memory leak. Ended up uninstalling DAI and doing a fresh install in case something had gone amiss with the patch, but I'm still seeing free memory decrease after long periods of continuous game play.
I checked that too, it was fine, sits around 80% usage with very little fluctuation. Vram also is the same.
Thee only graph that shows anything during a slowdown is the gpu.
I've done a full re-install, I also just a few months ago did a full system install. (when I upgraded to the 295x2)
Currently I am only playing DAI for testing, as the slow downs are for me, a game breaker.
The only other weird issue, when on the main menu, the multiplayer banner flickers like it is popping between layers if the image.
32Gigs of Ram and you have 80% usage?????!!!??? That's 25 gigs in use!!!
My system has 12 gigs and rarely exceeds 5 of it in use.
Have you checked your power settings to make sure everything is set up for max performance??? Both Geforce and computer profiles.
Also have you monitored temps while playing?? Maybe a cooler isn't performing as it should....doubt it but it still needs to be checked.
Sorry, that's my fault for not proof reading.
20% ram usage, changes so small the line on the graph could be used for a straight edge.
Power settings are all set for max performance, temps are fine both cpu and gpu are water cooled.
Also, the gpu is AMD, not nVidia.
